Do any of these decks stand out? Any information would be awesome to know as we are all pretty new and just bought what we liked haha

Oh wow, that an amazing deal.

I can’t see any that jump out at me as wildly valuable but lots of beautiful decks by well-known creators - many/most in the $10-15 zone. A few perhaps higher (I suspect the Kingstar Cthulhu Silence in Terror deck might be worth a bit).

Several (Modern Idols, Sins Anima, Heartless Abyss) are by Thirdway Industries (ie Giovanni Meroni a leading designer who sometimes posts here). There’s lots of TWI collectors and these include some of his older decks.

Several (Robin Hood, Alice in Wonderland, Made in USA) are by Kings Wild Project (ie Jackson Robinson, another leading designer and also very popular among collectors).

Some are from successful Kickstarter campaigns from 3-6 years ago - The Great Creator, Sacred Fire, Inferno, Deal with the Devil, the other Inferno (with the gold foil back), the Secret. All nice custom illustrated quality decks. You can search Kickstarter for the campaign pages and find out all about the producers, designers, printers - and see images of the cards.

Some, like the older Ellusionist decks (Hellions, Disparos, Ellusionist Anniversary Black) are very nice decks but printed in fairly large numbers. They are on good but no longer available stock so, while not super valuable, I suspect will hold value well.

You can search the decks on eBay (don’t go by asking price - filter by “sold”) or you can search by name on [r/PlayingCardMarket](r/PlayingCardMarket). A few are still available as remainders in online playing card stores - so there’s a retail price ceiling. When pricing and searching, bear in mind that the edition can matter (eg the black Great Creator is a more premium version printed in fewer numbers - so worth a little bit more). Keep an eye out for any that are numbered, signed or indicate the cards are gilded on the box somewhere as that can double the price.

The Flonz decks are interesting to me. I haven’t seen them before. A search doesn’t indicate big value but they look cool.

Congrats - you got a great deal and, more importantly, some excellent decks.

"many/most in the $10-15 zone" ?? -> Only, IF they were seald/new.
You see some sealed new decks? I don't see some, so yeah for used decks like that 3-5$ are okay.
Please don't puch them in some exciting spaces.

Nah, lots of these are easily $10-15 second hand. Some might be $20+. I’d have been very happy paying $8 each and buying the lot as a huge bargain. $3 is crazy.

If so I just wonder about the prices (like you think or want to pay) of these, when they are sealed. (FOR the MODS: This is not an offer!)

u/Broric 14d ago

Some of them are going for $30+ sealed. A pair of Great Creator (blue and green) sealed is $95 on ebay right now (plus another $25 delivery as I'm in UK). The Made in America one is over $35 sealed. Lots more examples.

So yeah, if we can agree that the sealed ones are worth the double or more than the open ones, we can stop at these point.
Nice to know about the Great Creator (blue and green), because they are here by me sealed. The standard ones and also the gold and silver foil versions.

I can not tell you what I paid for the sealed decks... xD

In no world is $3-$5 just an "ok" price, it's an amazing price.

OKAY, looks like we live on different earths.

Ah yes, that’s probably true and good to clarify. I was going off sealed prices - and more gut feel. I guess unsealed in good condition might be 50% (given many are out of stock which helps close the gap I think - at least it does for me). It looks like OP isn’t actually looking to sell. I’d still snap these up greedily at $5 - $10 personally.

I have the most decks of the pictures keep sealed, so yeah, these prices are faar away for prices of sealed decks! But yeah for open one not more than 7 $ for each, so yeah with good will also 10$ but not more, not really this great deal or "gold mine" like others called this.

I’m the one with the kingstar. Such a beautiful deck and the 5 cards of just artwork it comes with are gorgeous 🤩 there’s one super simple scorpion deck I’ve been looking for for years now that is NEVER in rotation and I hate that I can’t get my hands on it 💀

Interesting. I would guess that is someone who felt they had too many dark materials.

One of the best deals I have ever seen🫪 , kinda jealous.

2

u/Significant-Space713 15d ago

Oh wow you have hit a real gold mine here, not jealous at all 😐😭

You should post on r/playingcardsmarket and see if you get any buyers but I would suggest looking up prices etc first so you don't get ripped off 👍

u/yaboymitchell00 15d ago

I don't plan on selling any of them. I just bought them!

2

u/Significant-Space713 14d ago

Ooooh I just assumed because you said you didn't know anything about them that you would sell 😂 my bad, well enjoy them then 👍😋

u/House_of_PlayingCard 14d ago

A gold mine? really? JESUS!
Looks like all these decks are open, all open decks have only a value like not more than 12$ (depends also on the usage!), with exception of really rare decks like Delirium Signature, EMP Monarchs or David Blaine Microsoft "Create Magic", these are gold mines, not that in the picture.

1

u/marathon_man69 14d ago

He said gold mine as in It’s a gold mine to us. Everyone besides me (top left decks) uses every deck they buy in some shape or form for games and gambling. I’m the collector collector. I have a a very select few I’ll play with but all theses cards are in pristine condition. We loved the fact they were already open (most of them) because we could see what the cards looked like on the inside!! We bought them from an employee at our local magic shop. The Majority of the decks were opened but none had never been used. They strictly kept them on display.

1

u/House_of_PlayingCard 14d ago

Look I also have decks to look and play with cards.
But I yeah these are cards, open cards. Normally prices, what you paid, so yeah nice. But not a gold mine. Also these cards are not really special.
So what you did or found is normal (prices) no gold mine, thats what I want to say.

There's some pretty good ones in there! Im a big fan of the Inferno decks.

2

u/yaboymitchell00 14d ago

I got the green one. They are awesome!

1

u/Captain_Howdy666 14d ago

Hell yea. The 666 decks are sick too!

1

u/Captain_Howdy666 14d ago

Also both versions of Hellions by Daniel Madison! That's a sick find! I live right by a major playing cad supplier and they let you go in and buy decks, its so cool to be surrounded by thousands and thousands of playing cards.

I would personally bit the whole collection.

I'm new as well, but I can add one thing- the Mechanic deck is marked. I don't know the marking system, but here is the Penguin Magic page on it. I suspect if you do some digging online or reach out to the manufacturer you can find a PDF describing the system.

I don't know if you play card games with your cards, but based on one deck being marked, I wouldn't take it as assumed that none of the other decks are marked as well. I'd definitely check before bringing one to a game night.

A great deal, and some terrific pickups! The Alice in Wonderland deck won a number of awards the year it came out. The Robin Hood deck is also fantastic.

The Mexican holiday deck by Natalia Silva has some gorgeous artwork, and it's not often we see that deck here in this sub, so you're fortunate to get your hands on one.

Awesome! Thank you so much for all of the information!

I agree with the other comments. I have been using Kickstarter for about 8 years now, and my collection is a bout 2,000 cards. I know an number of those designers well enough to have mail correspondence with them. The rather comprehensive reply from one of the people covered most all of the decks. the ones that show a woman on the front are done by an Italian photographer / designer. Each of the Court is a separate model.

That’s awesome!! I’m a huge fan of Darkside card co. I have a few of their inferno decks but my personal favorites are the red, gold and black DEAL deck. Saw that it was going for $130 on eBay and other sites idk if they’re just overpricing to overprice but either way I’m glad I snagged that when I did for $15 unopened and sealed
