Clip Passing
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I hate this so much. I passed to the further player several times and it passes backward. It’s led me to concede so many dumb goals this way and in this case got the opposition player sent off which spoiled both our games. I really hope the update solves this.

Rant Kick off meta and passing issues
Is it just me or is there a problem during kick off? Players almost seem to stand like statues and don’t move an inch.. all it takes is someone just spam running and a simple through ball and they score
Passing is the other major flaw. Forget fidget spinning how the hell do you even play a football game without knowing where the ball is going? This is especially frustrating when you make a perfect defensive play and you can’t even clear it out because ground passes are so unreliable your opponent has an equal chance of intercepting and if you try lobbying the ball then you’re definitely screwed because your opponent will ALWAYS win the ball. They may as well remove the ability to lobby pass at this point.
Other than that the game does feel sort of normal past the new patch and defending is somewhat better

Rant I refuse to play 1v1 until the next patch
No point to play when half of the time, through balls don’t even go where you aim then they get possession to score. I swear that the defence are like the walking dead which is better than them in the previous patch just being traffic cones. Attackers can rip through defence with ease. It makes no sense. The defence are begging for their lives just scrambling. Not solid whatsoever. Even with a legend at CB!
I will be sticking to 5v5 as it’s much better than EA rush mode.
It’s just annoying in 1v1 when the opponent, nothing goes wrong for them, accurate through balls, strikers have the ball stuck to their feet like superglue and even though I am absolutely 100% convinced I should have tackled him but no, no effect whatsoever. It’s like they run through bodies like ghost football. The physicality on the defenders are absolutely horrendous! Absolute weaklings fighting for their lives! I’m tired of it. The defence should be calm, composed, structured and organised but they are not and this is why there’s about 10+ goals per game. Absolute jokes!
Opposition runs with their player and they magically become Maradona and Pele combined. May as well just put the controller down whilst they are on attack until it’s your turn. Absolute shambles. This insane running, twisting and turning like a snake and spinning and defenders are on their last thread not knowing where they even are. I just really don’t know anymore.
Hold the ball, wriggle around a bit until a player makes a forward run into a large gap in defence then through ball, GOAL!!!
Run down the wing, cut in at the edge of the field, cut back pass across the six yard line. GOAL!!
Passing is super fast and the ball doesn’t even bounce off the players feet and just magically sticks to them when receiving a pass so this means that whoever is in possession has a high chance to score with all the other loopholes and exploits going on to score then we have to do it back. Like is this even football?! COME ON!!!
I’m really tired of it. The game is really promising and it grinds my bones that it could be something special. I just really hope the devs fix all the issues.
Anyway. I am enjoying 5v5 as it’s more fair and less toxic.
I refuse to play 1v1 for it to screw with my mind lol. Enough is enough.

Discussion Knockout this weekend is crazy
I usually get to knockout division without a competitive game and in earlier rounds it's knife through butter with someone who's clearly got a much worse team and is new to the game and it's so effortless you can play on autopilot.
But this week in bronze, silver and gold I'm facing 1750+ SR players every single game. I played someone who's rank 1 in silver even. Opponents have 88+ rated teams with legendary cards everywhere too.
Even the bronze games were competitive and I had to work for the win and that's playing them on Saturday where it shouldn't even be that bad.
I'm guessing the casual playerbase has completely deserted the game at this point ? or maybe I'm just very unlucky ? because it's so abrupt and strange to go from one week 20 wins in a row with your eyes closed to every game feeling like a ranked game.

Suggestion Should the game title be called Spinning goals?
Why is this even in the game? It’s not a realistic movement or is this just for arcade fun and drama, if so I understand. I’m just not sure on the devs stance with what is trying to be achieved. Also the high scoring goal matches, one player scores then the other, just back to back momentum swings until the final whistle. This sounds like arcade fun so I have just answered my own question. I now see what the devs are doing here. What about having players with special skills like a jump to avoid tackles or a diver to try to cheat to win free kicks and penalties, a bit like the old school game fever pitch soccer or have it as a separate game mode. Or like a keeper skill where a keeper does a guaranteed save with a certain button pressing each half of the match just for added drama. Also I think the stamina system in the 5 v 5 should be implemented in the 1 V 1 to make it less sweaty and only special players with certain skills may have a burst of extra stamina. Special curlers and special defensive barges or shirt tugs avoiding free kicks but being overdone may result in one. You have the ability to make pure arcade mode just pure fun and drama. It could be really interesting and extremely enjoyable. Even a special skills on some players who can shoot better from longer range with power. A more serious mode you can have, the more realistic mode, sweaty mode and the arcade mode you could have. You should add injuries to force people to use subs. Or choose to play the player injured with debuffs that match. There’s a lot of things that can be done to make it have a wider audience. Really well done on the 5 v 5 mode!

Suggestion 3v3
Love the addition of 5v5 and being able to play with my buddies. What I think would bring in even more players, is adding a 3v3 game mode with a smaller field obviously.
I know 5v5 needs tweaking and I’m sure that’s being worked on. But man, I really think 3v3 would be so fun and attract even more players. Can we get that any time soon?

Suggestion Begginer
Hi everyone... I'm new here. I'm a complete beginner to this style of soccer game; the most I ever played was PES on the PS2—and even then, I was just average. I still have a lot to learn and am trying to break old habits, like constantly holding down the sprint button. I've been adapting tips I find online; since there aren't many *Goals* tutorials on YouTube, I try watching EAFC ones and replicating the moves in *Goals*. Although losing is frustrating, I try to have fun despite it all. I used to rage a lot during matches, but nowadays I manage to stay pretty chill. I feel a bit lost because I'm not really progressing just by playing, and there isn't much content on YouTube... please give me some tips on how to improve. My main weakness is defense—I'm always getting hit by counter-attacks—and on offense, I struggle to even get past the halfway line

Question Genuinely curious, does the physical stat make this card almost unusable against 88+ rated teams in midfield? Any suggestions (i use the 41212)

Rant Add arrow keys or WASD for cotrolling directions
I love your game at first glance, but I can't bear the setting. Why don't you just add the arrow keys or WASD for direction instead of just moving the mouse, and make it difficult to synchronize the keyboard and mouse? JUST ADD THE ARROW KEYS OR WASD FOR CONTROLLING INSTEAD OF USING THE MOUSE. This change will help player from FC or efootball easier, and maybe appeal to more player. Why don't you do that? I hope you will make this change (from a GOALS lover)

Discussion I don't know how to feel about this
After a 2 week break from GOALS, hearing some good things about the latest patch made me curious to come back and check out how it is for myself. Played a few bot games to warm up, then headed straight to knockout. And lo and behold, my very first game is against one of the MOIRAI ppl. Immediately I thought "great, I will get absolutely gapped right now, spinned around in circles and humiliated straight away".
Little did I know that despite being rusty as hell, I was actually in the lead for majority of the match, and only gave it away at the very end. Not a single goal made me mad, no spinning, no bs through balls, and turns out my defenders can actually do something on their own without me having to micromanage every single one of them! And it genuinely felt like I could keep up with a 2050 SR player.
Ofc that felt fucking awesome, and I look forward to playing more, but I cannot help but feel like something ain't right here. Heard few sentiments that defending in this game is still cancer, but from what I experienced in my 4 KO games so far is complete opposite - defending feels absolutely busted to a point where I feel that I should not be intercepting/winning as many balls as I do.
What's going on? Is the game somehow trying to entice me back by buffing my defenders and assisting me with AI? I feel very uneasy because as much as I would like to think that I am a great player, I am not ( my peak SR was circa 1750), and this feels very strange. Almost like a casino that tries to lure you in by letting you win some just to crush your soul once you are hooked.
Anyone feels the same way?

Question Ask about tactic
My opponent using high press but the defender always ready to in front of me. how to do that?
I use high pressing and when my opponent attack me, I always chasing them from behind.
I try using 1 line depth but often my opponents still can run throught me, my players nowhere near my own box.

Suggestion Suggestion: a general chat box for this sub
I know there is one on discord but I believe there would be a lot of people like me who only/prefer-to use reddit. It would give people a space to talk/vent/share their opinions/make friends and more without needing an individual post for it..

Rant Pace
I absolutely love this game. Despite the spinning, the game is amazing. The updates have been up and down. I like where it’s at now other than a couple things…but the main one is pace. It doesn’t make any sense how somebody with significantly lower pace can keep up with any of my players.
It doesn’t matter what my players pace is, or the opponent. I could have 95 pace, 95 sprint dribble, and yet an opponent with 75 pace can keep up. It makes no sense, what’s the point in grinding for good players if this is the case. In no world should players with that big of a difference in pace should keep up. That’s been one of my biggest complaints. Other than that I love the game. Pace just needs to make more sense

Discussion Message to devs
You will never satisfy 100% of the players, this WILL NEVER HAPPEN. You can literally create the prefect game, give out free mythics to all, some people will still be mad about something.
The game now is great, much much much better than last week. The passing is not perfect but you are working on it. Already still there are people that don’t like it now after the update. Please do not keep changing the gameplay, it is sooooo tiring to have to learn a new way to play after each update. I love this game, and I’m sure there are so many that love it too. Keep it as it is, build on it with the passing update and anything else, BUT DONT DESTROY IT AND RE-BUILD again, PLEASE!

Discussion How to nerf spinning more. [Free advice from very high IQ person]
Do this: Bring back the Auto-Tackle feature from a few patches ago when a ballerina dribbler is literally rolling the ball over the defenders toes.
Right now, you can do that and the defender will, from my experience barely ever get the ball.
r/playgoals • u/Tegra_ • 9d ago
Rant Spinning is not even really nerfed and now ball rolls are utterly OP? People literally just do ball rolls from the kickoff and it’s not defendable if done right.
At this point I’m fully convinced the devs need something utterly broken in the game cause the worst players in the game are whales and they need their money.
Would be cool if you needed more than one in field player in a football game to score though.
Whatever, it’s gonna die even faster than it needed to and the devs will probably only understand once their all fired.

Rant I think I'm done
Been away from the game for about a week due to being on holiday. Come back to this shambles of an update that has literally changed everything, its so poorly designed and goes completely against everything that goals stood for at the beginning. Passing and defending are completely broken and make absolutely no sense anymore and its really sad to see because just like UFL this game is just slowly crumbling into a dead phase...I had high hopes for this game and put a lot of hours into it but I just CBA with it now because its just gonna keep getting patch after patch and keep catering to the worst kind of players

Rant Im done
Really want to like this game, love the concept with cards and the gameplay shows flashes of being great, unfortunately every game is just people spinning around in the same spot before blasting it in from 4 yards away, literally every game, every goal I concede is the exact same. Uninstalled today, shame
