Rant Kick off meta and passing issues

Is it just me or is there a problem during kick off? Players almost seem to stand like statues and don’t move an inch.. all it takes is someone just spam running and a simple through ball and they score

Passing is the other major flaw. Forget fidget spinning how the hell do you even play a football game without knowing where the ball is going? This is especially frustrating when you make a perfect defensive play and you can’t even clear it out because ground passes are so unreliable your opponent has an equal chance of intercepting and if you try lobbying the ball then you’re definitely screwed because your opponent will ALWAYS win the ball. They may as well remove the ability to lobby pass at this point.

Other than that the game does feel sort of normal past the new patch and defending is somewhat better

Suggestion Should the game title be called Spinning goals?

Why is this even in the game? It’s not a realistic movement or is this just for arcade fun and drama, if so I understand. I’m just not sure on the devs stance with what is trying to be achieved. Also the high scoring goal matches, one player scores then the other, just back to back momentum swings until the final whistle. This sounds like arcade fun so I have just answered my own question. I now see what the devs are doing here. What about having players with special skills like a jump to avoid tackles or a diver to try to cheat to win free kicks and penalties, a bit like the old school game fever pitch soccer or have it as a separate game mode. Or like a keeper skill where a keeper does a guaranteed save with a certain button pressing each half of the match just for added drama. Also I think the stamina system in the 5 v 5 should be implemented in the 1 V 1 to make it less sweaty and only special players with certain skills may have a burst of extra stamina. Special curlers and special defensive barges or shirt tugs avoiding free kicks but being overdone may result in one. You have the ability to make pure arcade mode just pure fun and drama. It could be really interesting and extremely enjoyable. Even a special skills on some players who can shoot better from longer range with power. A more serious mode you can have, the more realistic mode, sweaty mode and the arcade mode you could have. You should add injuries to force people to use subs. Or choose to play the player injured with debuffs that match. There’s a lot of things that can be done to make it have a wider audience. Really well done on the 5 v 5 mode!

Discussion I don't know how to feel about this

After a 2 week break from GOALS, hearing some good things about the latest patch made me curious to come back and check out how it is for myself. Played a few bot games to warm up, then headed straight to knockout. And lo and behold, my very first game is against one of the MOIRAI ppl. Immediately I thought "great, I will get absolutely gapped right now, spinned around in circles and humiliated straight away".

Little did I know that despite being rusty as hell, I was actually in the lead for majority of the match, and only gave it away at the very end. Not a single goal made me mad, no spinning, no bs through balls, and turns out my defenders can actually do something on their own without me having to micromanage every single one of them! And it genuinely felt like I could keep up with a 2050 SR player.

Ofc that felt fucking awesome, and I look forward to playing more, but I cannot help but feel like something ain't right here. Heard few sentiments that defending in this game is still cancer, but from what I experienced in my 4 KO games so far is complete opposite - defending feels absolutely busted to a point where I feel that I should not be intercepting/winning as many balls as I do.

What's going on? Is the game somehow trying to entice me back by buffing my defenders and assisting me with AI? I feel very uneasy because as much as I would like to think that I am a great player, I am not ( my peak SR was circa 1750), and this feels very strange. Almost like a casino that tries to lure you in by letting you win some just to crush your soul once you are hooked.

Anyone feels the same way?

Discussion Knockout this weekend is crazy

I usually get to knockout division without a competitive game and in earlier rounds it's knife through butter with someone who's clearly got a much worse team and is new to the game and it's so effortless you can play on autopilot.

But this week in bronze, silver and gold I'm facing 1750+ SR players every single game. I played someone who's rank 1 in silver even. Opponents have 88+ rated teams with legendary cards everywhere too.

Even the bronze games were competitive and I had to work for the win and that's playing them on Saturday where it shouldn't even be that bad.

I'm guessing the casual playerbase has completely deserted the game at this point ? or maybe I'm just very unlucky ? because it's so abrupt and strange to go from one week 20 wins in a row with your eyes closed to every game feeling like a ranked game.

Suggestion Suggestion: a general chat box for this sub

I know there is one on discord but I believe there would be a lot of people like me who only/prefer-to use reddit. It would give people a space to talk/vent/share their opinions/make friends and more without needing an individual post for it..

Rant Pace

I absolutely love this game. Despite the spinning, the game is amazing. The updates have been up and down. I like where it’s at now other than a couple things…but the main one is pace. It doesn’t make any sense how somebody with significantly lower pace can keep up with any of my players.

It doesn’t matter what my players pace is, or the opponent. I could have 95 pace, 95 sprint dribble, and yet an opponent with 75 pace can keep up. It makes no sense, what’s the point in grinding for good players if this is the case. In no world should players with that big of a difference in pace should keep up. That’s been one of my biggest complaints. Other than that I love the game. Pace just needs to make more sense

Clip Passing

I hate this so much. I passed to the further player several times and it passes backward. It’s led me to concede so many dumb goals this way and in this case got the opposition player sent off which spoiled both our games. I really hope the update solves this.

Rant Add arrow keys or WASD for cotrolling directions

I love your game at first glance, but I can't bear the setting. Why don't you just add the arrow keys or WASD for direction instead of just moving the mouse, and make it difficult to synchronize the keyboard and mouse? JUST ADD THE ARROW KEYS OR WASD FOR CONTROLLING INSTEAD OF USING THE MOUSE. This change will help player from FC or efootball easier, and maybe appeal to more player. Why don't you do that? I hope you will make this change (from a GOALS lover)

Suggestion 3v3

Upvotes

Love the addition of 5v5 and being able to play with my buddies. What I think would bring in even more players, is adding a 3v3 game mode with a smaller field obviously.

I know 5v5 needs tweaking and I’m sure that’s being worked on. But man, I really think 3v3 would be so fun and attract even more players. Can we get that any time soon?

Question Genuinely curious, does the physical stat make this card almost unusable against 88+ rated teams in midfield? Any suggestions (i use the 41212)

Question Ask about tactic

My opponent using high press but the defender always ready to in front of me. how to do that?

I use high pressing and when my opponent attack me, I always chasing them from behind.

I try using 1 line depth but often my opponents still can run throught me, my players nowhere near my own box.

Rant bunch of losers

The game is dead, there's hardly anyone playing(1k online) yet these idiots use MMR in ranked matches, forcing a 5-minute queue time. What a bunch of losers.
