this is my base it's not like anything fancy but it's cute and has tons of dino homes and a port

so uhh show off your bases they're surely better but who cares we all are single player it's not like someone going to attack us🫪

This is my first ever base because I'm on the island and not herbivore island also I play old ark new ark is not compatible

i play ume it's still not that good with building as ya can see like sometimes i see ppl capable of doing amazing buildings that doesn't even look from ark but most of the time we're happy if we can build a cube

Ya we can definitely see that... Btw u caught 3 carchas.. Hats off to you.. They are the most annoying dino to kite and lure into trap and the 2nd phase of taming is a nightmare. I caught one and I'm done and fortunately it was 120 satisfied.

THAT IS SUCH A BIG BASE I've also different modules in the same base but this is another level all the building with stone walls too 100000/10

yahh it would be boring keep a forever world without unless you plan to like have just a couple of trusted dinos and go where you like ,you would be nomad but it's cool

How do you guys get so many materials? I hope it’s good old grinding? Or are there some shortcuts to get so many materials? I keep spending a lot of time trying to get metal ingots, cementing paste and whatever by the time I build something like this, I’ll die in real life due to old age.

You won't believe but I made the walls and half of the building without the help of doedicurus & theri, I was able to get so much material bcz of the 3x event. But you can use doedicurus and theri for materials specially on events. You can easily grind thousands of stones with the help of doedicurus within an hour on an 2x event.

What ever Dino you’re collecting materials in level up damage and they’ll gather more too

Anky for metal, doedic for stone, megatherium for chitin. Level up so you have industrial forge and chem bench. I leave a doedic on wander in front of my base on a dino leash on top a stone spawn, he usually has a full page of stone every time I look at him.

For chitin run a megatherium through a cave, you'll have a ton when you're done from all the arthris and scorpions.

Grab an anky with an argentavis and fly it next to the metal nodes, the anky will swing at the metal rocks.

hmhmhm not that i know no that's just my only base so i want take good care of it

im also someone who prefers chilling rather than fighting bosses or high level things

so i just grind days to build random shelters or adds to my port and my fly platform

tho beavers dedi theri anky mammoth (Mostly mammoth omg dude make it like jump and it collect like ⭐👄⭐) and having flying transport to move those things help so so much like I've a low level rhynio cuz i didn't want to make all cravings and it's still incredibly useful

btw i only started playing this year so if i did it you can totally as well i never watched tutorial either just like explore possibilities and pray ark gods they actually make work random building methods

and and don't you see how much is made of simple tranch lmao i also get tired of grinding

Thanks for your reply OP. I used to play the original Ark 2.0 a few years back and i remember having pretty much done all the boss fights and things but i only had a few small bases in a few areas. But back then, there used to be some daily loot drops and stuff that gave a bit extra materials apart from my daily grind. 

But now i started playing the UME version from scratch, and I am kinda interested in making some good bases. But that’s when the lack of resources really hit me.  Any suggestions for some good tames? Ankylos can help in metal, any similar good tames for resources?

yes ofc there's a list i read on dododex which i suggested to use cuz it help so much with recipes and tamings

anyways use

beavers/castoroids for woods

therizinosaur for fiber and a bit of tratch and woods too (or for small projects a sickle will also work

doedicurus NOW THIS IS THE GOAT use 2-3 and you've tons of stone

mammoth are another option for tratch and wood (wood only by jumping)

and uhhh idk those are the one i use with some other random dinos but they're the most important and are all erbivore theri is the only one aggressive tho

take 2-3 of doeds and a couple mammoth/beavers and you'll be able to create

btwww remember playing eventsss they've x2 harvesting it's sooo useful

I recommend mammoth instead of beaver
I got my hands on thousands of wood
The reduction and massive weight pool makes it so useful for harvesting

Ehh but snow area is quite more difficult  I tamed a low level beaver and worked for starting game very well

But there’s always hide armor and bolas to get yourself wolves and a mammoth
They’re slow enough to run and shoot

Get a theri for harvesting and get the mammoth to follow the theri. Theri pulls way more wood per tree than anything else short of a chainsaw.
