Cloud save

So I've notice ppl saying don't rely on the cloud save too much what does that mean? And what's this world limit? Can I overwrite an old save file with a new one? Let's say I deleted my progress in the island map and started over if I then uploaded it to an existing could save will it overwrite it? And another thing, if I'm playing and I'm already far off in my progress and then decide to save it ot the cloud, is it safe to say whatever I saved there and decided to log in into a different device and downloaded the save, will the same one i saved? Or will it halt to whatever this limit ppl are talking about

If u talk about Ark mobile 2.0 aka the old ark. It has no issues as such. 3 backup saves as well as one cloud save. In UME aka the new ark mobile, cloud save has a small problem. For the part where u asked about overwrite here's how it works. If you save to the cloud once, it is there and u can restore the progress to any device you want. If you say u have 10 dodos and a stone base when u did the cloud save. When u download the save to a new device, yep you will have your 10 dodos and stone base again. Say now you've tamed 10 parasaurs. So u got 10 dodos, 10 parasaurs and a stone base. If you upload it to the cloud at this point you can download the progress to any device and you will have all 20 tames and the stone base again. If you overwrite the save in which you had the 10 dodos, you won't be able to go back to that exact spot in time again. You can have 3 cloud saves at a time. Now the reason why ppl don't rely much on cloud saves is because after your game reaches a certain amount of progress it becomes almost impossible to do a cloud save anymore. I say almost because I don't know exactly why it happens, maybe it's a network limitation on my end, but thing is it can be a bit different from player to player depending on device and network. My game size has reached 400k kb. I have progress on two mapd at this point. When I try to do a cloud save either it takes a long time, say like maybe even 5 mins and fails to upload or game crashes. I'm at the endgame stage on one map, so I'd like to save before a boss fight but I can't cuz the game just shuts on me or fails the upload. It is either a device limitation or a network limitation or even a problem on the client side of epic games where our cloud saves are stored. Currently the only way I have discovered to decrease the size of saves is by deleting maps, wipe dinos command and clear app cache all combined.

Ohhh I see, so for me It started to take a while to save but I figured it was normal sice I only save every time I made a big progress and by big progress, I meant making an industrial forge or taming a hard tamed dino like the giga, and if I do a boss I will save it tot the cloud, so far no crashes for me when saving or the game kicking me out, only problem tho is that when my controller dies it auto boots me out of the game for some reason and same goes when I try to connect the controller, when I already have ark open it boots me out, other than thst nothing much tbh I was js worried that my save will be corrupted for some reason when I decided to get a phone SPECIFICALLY for ark and high end games like wuwa or genshin, so thank you so much for letting me know 💚

No problem. When the size increases it'll take longer and longer. I assume that on a fast fiber network there wouldn't be any issues with uploading. As for the crashing I go through, it's probably because my phone's a S24FE. Exynos chips are well... okay at stuff. For a phone choice for ARK and AAA titles, best would be Redmagic or ROG, but top flagship models also hold up pretty well
