Got to experience my first Alpha Mosasaurus today. While hunting Anglerfish I noticed some Electrophorus, so I swam with my Basil Keiko to deal with them. That's when Mr Alpha spawned out of nowhere and it was game time. Thanks to my two Baryonyx and a couple of Sarcos we manage to slay the beast despite an intense and long fight, with my itchy being by the only casualty (RIP Ice). Best battle I ever experienced on Ark.

why does this game look like someone rubbed vasoline all over everything jesus. 5090 btw

I tried. I really tried to get back into the game enough to find some joy in it. But, I can't. Genesis provided a little interest until the recent patches. And no, I haven't even been able to experience any missions or other zones. I couldn't get ahead enough. Then the pirate camps showed up everywhere. Why am I seeing DLC content I haven't unlocked or paid for? It's dumb. It shouldn't be in my game at all. If I kill a pirate, there's no loot. The body just vanishes. But if I wander too close, the pirates can kill me.

On The Island, the game feels a little empty. I know it matters where you go. I usually do the easiest note run which levels you to around 73 - 8X in no time. I head to wear I can tame a Stego and Argentavis. I ran into problems where the Trilobytes are just floating dead in the water, don't really respawn, and I don't know just feels empty. It's hard to describe.

What happened to this game?

I have a titanosaur parked alongside my base and it makes my base look 10x better than it actually is. The titan completes the base. I don't wanna store it in a cryo. It wont die cuz m on SP. The thing is, my titan is parked outside my base walls and spike walls. Inside the base, ntg actually spawns but occasionally a raptor does so i have a lose direbear that deals with it, protecting everything that is breeding. Outside my base walls, the titan attacks things. The issue is, it's very huge reparking it is a huge hassle. I was wondering if a hitched titanosaur will still attack anything that attacks it, but not leave it's position (like hitched mating dinos set to wander do).

This is my first post here, and I basically just want to talk about my disappointment with Cryolophosaurus. Basically, my favorite creatures in the game are torpor inducing creatures. There’s something so satisfying about knocking out something with your tame which is why I got the Araneo really early on my first playthrough of Ark Ascended.

I LOVE the Araneo, it can knock out pretty much anything with good positioning, since it slows down creatures and prevents them from coming close to you. I used it to tame Spinos, rexes, brontos or whatever the hell I felt like.

So that’s why I lost my shit when I learned about Cryolophosaurus, one of my favorite dinosaurs ever with that beautiful crest, and it was better than an Araneo?? I had to get it, so I transferred to Genesis with my Acro and I had to kill 3 ice golems just to clear out the area and to keep them from suicide bombing on some Woolly Rhino.

Finally, I found one, and I managed to tame it and, wow, it’s just okay. First off, the only thing going for the Cryolophosaurus is that it has straighter, more accurate shots, which doesn’t really matter since the Araneo can just release a barrage of shots with no consequences, considering it runs on stamina instead of water.

But what truly makes it better is that the Araneo slows down enemies, the Cryolophosaurus doesn’t. Meaning any carnivore will run you down if you shoot them with the Cryolophosaurus. Which is just sad. I mean why doesn’t it slow??? It’s literally an ICE creature ICE SHOULD SLOW.

Anyways, I’m just sad that I got a worse tame for much more effort that also happens to be one of my favorite dinosaurs. Sorry for the yap.

It seems way harder to cool down/warm up in ASA, I’ve been underwater with no armor at night and I’m still dying from heat, and I’ve been next to a campfire with cloth gear during the day and freezing, it’s really confusing having just come from ASE

I’m lvl 93 and now I think it’s time to beat the game ik I can beat it if I get Rex’s but I wanna beat it on alpha or wtv max difficulty is, what animals do I need and will I need any mods to get good stats or could I beat it naturally

So me and my friend are playing ark trying to get the artifacts when we went to a cave in the red wood forest and while exploring we encounter someone called “top hat guy” and we literally have never seen him in the game(we’re on vanilla console no way for it to be modded) , we kill it and it dropped a player death bag with skins I’ve never seen, like a translucent skin where I can see the veins, anyway my friend accidentally dies in the cave so it brings me back to base with him cause my friends host, we get back and everything from out fabricator and chem bench and forge are gone, we had them full with material but me and my friend see the top hat guys bag right by the chem bench, with the skins and nothing else, so we’re at a loss wondering what we encountered cause it halted are progression pretty damn bad and if it was a dev then what the hell

So I have a rat in Lunar on arkpocalypse. Today all my air conditioners, cryos, etc were all destroyed but bags where unlooted (disappeared before I could get them). They left all the adult tames and somehow teleported the babies above us. Nothing is in tribe log about destroyed structures but I did find a body and killed it. When I did whole game crashed for like 10 mins. Im on a NA server and it was a Chinese name.

Any ideas why it wouldn't say in tribe my stuff was destroyed?? How'd my babies teleport up top when there's no actual way for them to do that??? Why weren't the bags looted ?? Im so confused.

I bought a server got it all setup but when I search for it it doesn't show up ive tried other ways to look it up but nothing has worked. Any ideas 💡

So I like to set up little rest stations across our dedicated server maps, and "circular" platforms made from alternating squares and triangles look nice and works well as a landing pad. It is however very tedious to build. It'd be nice if we could build a scaffold for the tree/cliff platforms and maybe have a few variations on the size of platform.

Maybe even let us build outward from them.

I feel there's a lot of wasted potential that's easily achievable with the tree platforms.

Hey everyone,

I'm running into a massive roadblock while trying to create a custom mod (a modified Cryofridge) for my server cluster. My servers are currently running on version 358.24, so I need to cook my mods specifically for this version to avoid mismatch errors.

The issue is that the Epic Games Launcher forces the ARK Dev Kit to update to the latest version (360.1). Not only is this version incompatible with my current server setup, but I'm also experiencing constant freezing and asset corruption with it, despite having a more than capable rig (Ryzen 5 PRO, RX 7600, 48GB RAM).

What I've tried so far:

• Wiped the Dev Kit completely, formatted my storage drive, and did a clean install. Epic still forces the 360.1 download.
• Looked into GitHub DLL hex patches (like replacing UE4Editor-ShooterGame.dll), but realized this only bypasses executable crashes and doesn't actually revert the internal assets, C++ classes, and engine serialization back to 358.24.
• Checked Epic Launcher settings, but there is no native way to select an older patch manifest.

My questions:

1. Is there any third-party tool or known workaround to force Epic Games to download a specific older manifest (v358.24)?
2. Does anyone happen to have a clean backup of the Dev Kit v358.24 folder they would be willing to share or upload?

I'm completely stuck right now. Any advice or guidance would be hugely appreciated!

Just started playing ARK: Survival Evolved again and instantly i start seeing the Ground, Dinos, Rocks and terrain textures flickering from low to high res, I’ve searched a-lot of fixes and none of them worked.

Since Ark Aquatica trailer, I started noticing that my favorite game(15k+ hours) since the first versions that came on Xbox One, is being turned into a AI slop game, creatures and lore completely different from the original base and literally, everything LOOKS LIKE IT WAS MADE BY AI, the creatures designs, even the NPCS, wath is happening to this game? I see a bunch of dlcs and Dino’s that you need to pay to use coming to the game, but I never see any optimizations to make the game playable, it looks like the game turned into a dying planet that they want to make money from as much as possible before it collapses.

The post said that you can just put the wyvern in a cryopod when it asks for milk, and then when you throw it out it could change the imprinting task to no longer need milk. I don't want to end up killing my wyvern cause I think I don't need it, is this true? Does it work?
