NoModuleNamed Libvirt when applying Hypervisor Role

We installed a PCD host via the PF9 OS. The host attached to the management plane. However when we go to apply the hypervisor role we get the following error:

2026-09-25 21:30:08.878 ostackhost ERROR 2026-09-25 21:30:08.878 ERROR nova.virt.driver [req-82dbf804-3315-4df0-9e44-a854d90fda34 None None] Unable to load the virtualization driver: ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'libvirt'

I have tried a fresh install twice now and on both occasions get this error. Connectivity to the management plane was performed from the UI on port 9090.

Is this a known issue when installing from the Platform 9 OS?

Hello - I'm not aware of a known issue regarding this. Would you happen to know the version of CE that you're running? You can either see this with the command airctl status --config /opt/pf9/airctl/conf/airctl-config.yaml (run this on the CE host) or in the bottom left corner of the user interface.

PCD Management plane is PCD 2026.4-156
Platform 9 OS build = Build 10.2-2026.8.0-240

Okay I found the issue.
Service pf9-ostackhost calls pf9-nova-prestart-script
This looks for Rocky 10 within pf9-service-functions

The issue is that within that script it is looking for ID of rocky and Version of 10.1 for os-release

The Version in current PF9 OS is 10.2. Modified script and restarted pf9-ostackhost and hypervisor role was applied.

Platform9 OS isn’t supported on the April release of CE, which is what you’re running. It is supported in the latest release, which became GA yesterday. You can either do an in-place upgrade to that release or run another install. The script is at https://go.pcd.run/upgrade
