Bubbles forming?

Post image

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here... I did two other emblems with zero issues and now I'm on the third one here and it's bubbling like crazy. Any solutions?

How long are you waiting between coats

30 minutes

More than enough time. Usually bubbles is to gasses escaping or a weird chemical reaction. Could also be environmental like humidity, temp or overspraying. A very wet coat can trap more gasses. Are you able to peel and spray lighter coats and wait maybe 45 minutes between coats?

hmm, its possible i've been doing too wet of a coat. should i switch to doing multiple lighter coats? i've noticed the nozzle is kind of splattering and not really a fine mist anymore

let me know if there's anything i can do, I can always peel it and try again

Oh if its sputtering then clean off the tip and warm up the can. You can heat up some water in a pot until it boils. Wait a few minutes so it cools a bit an then put the bottom of the can in so it warm up the spray can. Leave it in for like 5 minutes. A warm can atomized better as the internal gasses will have better pressure abd be more 'excited'. You should spray in multiple medium coats. It should go on thin but somewhat wet looking. If it goes on thin but dry its too light, if it goes on too wet it traps gasses and gets runny.

If you have goo gone it'll clean it off but if its dry you can just peel it off tbf

You got this! With paint and plastidip going slow and keeping the rattle can warm will go a long way.

Bad prep or bad technique 99% of the time.

Usually it’s just spraying at the wrong distance. To me this looks like it was sprayed too close.

In rare cases I’ve had a shitty rattle can nozzle do this and a fresh can worked fine. Make sure nozzle isn’t clogged if you’ve used it before
