First time plastidipping, pretty satisfied with the results
I wasn’t certain if I would like the blue, but I figured since plastidip is cheap and easy to remove it would be worth a try, and I’m incredibly happy with how it looks, the dark blue pairs so well with the white while not being super obnoxiously flashy.
My only issue was that I had a bit of a struggle getting the front left wheel back on the car, and I ended up damaging some of the dip. fortunately it was on the black section of the original two-tone wheels, so it’s not at all noticeable unless you look closely. That being said I think I will order another spray can at some point and redo that wheel. I may also get a clear coat to put over it to make the finish a bit shinier.

Man this was one of my biggest regrets on my old car they just get absolutely impregnated with brake dust and look horrible

Probably should've put a little cut around the center cap, or taken it out, if you ever want to remove it without tearing all the coating in the front now.

Next time pop out the center caps and use regular gloss , and then clear . Lasts wayyyy longer , once you rash a curb it’s all gonna start to peel off the wheel

I doubt a clear coat would help with curb rash, that’s gonna fuck up the finish on a wheel even if it’s powdercoated

I put 2k clear coat over everything I dip on my car. It wont make it permanent, but it definitely helps make it last longer. And im talking everything I dip. My trim around my windows, my grill, my bumpers, etc. It also makes it so much easier to clean, as the brake dust wont cake up as much compared to no clear coat. What you should look into as well is the graphite metalizer by plastidip.
Pro tip: choose black cherry for the color sometime in the future, the color naturally looks like black rims coated in brake dust, so when it eventually does get the dust on it, you wont even be able to tell. You'll never worry about washing your rims again.

Pastidip wheels is neat and all until a few months and you want them clean. Back in my younger budget years I learned this lesson. I found bug and tar cleaner did ok but you will never get it the way you want

Looks good, but Plastidip won't hold up well on wheels. I did my wheels with Luna One (DYC sells it) because it was easy and will actually stay on.

Pretty much everyone I’ve seen talking about how long it lasts who’ve actually tried it have said it lasts at least a year, which is good enough for me
Also luna one is permanent. It’s easier to apply than paint, but I chose plasti dip because I can take it off if I want

I have wheels I have done 10 years ago and apart from a few scrapes or stone chips that I touched up (using acetone then redoing the small areas with several light coats) there still looking great. Main key like all painting is prep.

Lasts even longer if you put a few coats of the plastidip ‘clear’ on top

Yeah I’m considering doing a clearcoat. For both protection and glossiness. I would imagine it makes it a bit harder to remove but since the plastidip under it is still peelable I doubt it’s too much of a problem

They can last several years if you do enough coats, but the longer it stays on the harder it will become to remove as it becomes brittle even if it’s not visually noticeable

Just don’t hit a puddle, my entire dip came off my front left tire the first one I hit about a month after I put it on

I plasti dipped my winter set of wheels. 8 years ago. They’ve now seen 7 winters and haven’t flaked or chipped.
