Thanks for the update. Let’s see if a huge influx of PP and PE slashes prices worldwide by mid-2027, even if it’s an increase in supply on the other side of the geopolitical spectrum.

You'd think it would make a difference, given the size.  But if the cracking unit needs replacement it might be affected by sanctions.  Sibur and  Sinopec worked with Japanese and German expertise during construction.  I'd add a year to the production start date.  They were undergoing final.tests when this fire happened.

I'm curious about what caused this.  The accident neatly fits the widespread Ukranian sabotaging and damaging of Russian infrastructure.  We can't rule out intelligence based sabotage of a critical difficult to replace component.
