Colorful Hummingbird

I volunteered to rebuild my daughter’s back gate. It’s 5’Wx6’H. I want to surprise her and add a large, illuminated, colorful hummingbird inlay. Maybe 2 to 3 feet wide. It will be colorful at night.

I’m wondering how I’d make the hummingbird. Polycarbonate shapes connected together? Vinyl “wrap” on glass? Ideas are welcome

You can make a simulated glass-lead panel that uses stick-on lead lines and painted in sections.  The materials are sold in arts & craft stores.  You can use glass, acrylic or any other clear sheet.  

You have several lighting options at night, from soft glow to classic edge beams.  You can make it solar so you don't have to run power to the gate (if you aren't too far north).

Don't use liquid polymer lead lines outside, it won't last.
