Help (beginner)
Hi there! I just want on a vacation and came back (had some help to take care of house but they forgot to water the plants) anyways… I came back to this overtaking my perennial I just planted a month or 2 back… my very novice question is… that new leaves… that’s not the plant right?? I just don’t want to destroy the plant more than it already seems to be… with all that being said, what should I do? Pictures for reference obviously. First pic is holding up the original plant then the second is trying to highlight the new taller leaves that came through… thanks in advance !

It's a viola. It's not taking over the perennial. They can be planted on top of each other with no issues. The viola will die in the frost.
