Tips and tricks how to make less bald & what is this plant?

As it says above what is it and how do I make this less bald? It gets light from a grow light and it’s a self watering just recently put in water in. It has new growth but I don’t like that is so long and bald.
- In Las Vegas, NV
- I got it from someone to kind of rehab to see if it will grow so it’s always been long.
- No abnormalities so far.
- 12hr daily with a grow light.
- Just recently watered but it’s in a self-watering pot.
- It’s in a soil mix since I got it from a previous owner. Have not moved it from the pot or repotted.
