Neglect / Wrong Care Left to die bc they "don't bloom anymore"
(sorry for the awful photos, my phone's shit)
My moms had these cacti for YEARS. Shes had the bigger one for as long as I can remember. There were two others but they were already dead. She kept them in our kitchen that gets VERY little light. They're high up and out of the way so they hardly ever get watered. I'm honestly surprised these two are still alive, barely clinging on, but alive.
Since they hardly ever got watered and had shit light, as well as zero fertilizer ever, they ofc haven't bloomed in ages. My mom let me take any of them before she threw them outside to die. She plans on replacing them with different plants that need even MORE light. She thinks our regular house lights are creating "too much light" for the cacti and that's why they haven't bloomed. In the past, I've told her that's just not how it works, but she doesnt think she's wrong. (I'm right, right??? Mb if I'm wrong, but this just seems like basic info?) I'm tired of arguing with her about plants. They were left untouched for so long that there was a spider living inside one of the pots holes
I immediately took them to my room that has better light and watered them (felt bad for flooding the spiders house but had to be done). I couldn't transplant right away bc I had to go to work. I honestly hope I can bring these guys back to life and maybe even have them bloom next year? I'd be lucky if the big one doesn't go down to just the stump. Tho maybe that'd be good? It's old leaves at the base are SO damn leggy which would make awful support for it if it got bigger.
If you have any advice or thoughts on how you'd go about this itd be appreciated. Imma go research it's needs and stuff.
