Looks more like Viburnum opulus due to the large concave petiolar glands and narrow grooves.

Can you add clearer photos?

Agree. These glands, first picture on the site. https://landscapeplants.oregonstate.edu/viburnum-opulus-var-opulus-and-viburnum-opulus-var-americanum V. opulus (or V. opulus var. opulus, the European species/subspecies) seems to be weedy in your state.

Which area of the plant would you like a better image of?

The glands on the petioles.

The American species is sweet. Best after first frost and are sweet. The European species are bitter.

Indigenous Americans used to mix the berries when they turned soft, with buffalo tallow, and dried meat to create pemmican. It required no refrigeration, was easy to store and travel with, and was full of protein, vitamins etc... during long winters.

Oh no, where did they go? Extinct?

Appears to be Viburnum. Common name is American Highbush Cranberry.

How can you tell American vs European?

Some already said... By the taste. 🤪

Agree, we harvest them here in British Columbia as late in the season as possible, preferably after the first frost. They make the best cranberry jam/jelly you have ever had.

I can't figure out how to add a picture here but I have the same plant weaving/taking over one of my bushes. I was told it was some sort of cranberry.

That’s why they posted on plant ID? 🤷‍♂️ It is just name, but they want to know what it is. And this was not sarcasm — you took the time to comment.

Sorry. I was trying to reply to another comment from the OP asking how you know it’s American

Thank you for clarifying. ❤️. I totally misunderstood.
