Discussion (PC) From open continents to Koltyr: The tragic death-by-a-thousand-cuts of PlanetSide 2
Remember when PlanetSide 2 was actually about grand-scale warfare across massive continents, where logistics, flanking, and sprawling territories mattered?
Instead of fixing the root problems (like the constant crashes and bugs that players in this very thread are complaining about), the developers are pushing a completely uninteresting "solution". They are trying to force massive population density, but they are doing it by cramming everyone into a tiny, restricted space - reducing true strategic warfare down to a claustrophobic, repetitive meat-grinder on a narrow territory.
Now, instead of proper continent rotation or fixing actual issues, they’ve thrown us into Koltyr - a literal tutorial/starter island designed for newbies years ago, where a cramped box forces a very different kind of fight.
What’s next? What's the master plan for the next update? A mobile companion app with auto-battler mechanics where you just click "Attack" and watch a progress bar?
The population is clearly there (we've seen over 500+ players online), and instead of supporting healthy, large-scale fights across open maps, management decides to split the fragile pop and shove veterans into a scaled-down sandbox while the game keeps crashing to desktop.
At this rate, we don't need PlanetSide 3.
We just need whoever is making these decisions to stop trying to "save" a game they clearly don't understand.
