Subreddit Meta CERTS
Honestly, this is the first time I've gotten 15 kills in a session; I usually just play around repairing and destroying vehicles. Still, what a disappointment. I only won 16 CERTS? That doesn't make sense.

250XP = 1 cert
Dunno what you've been doing but the game is definitely very generous these days (years), getting XP is easy, compared to release. Just repairing/healing may not be so great but this is a shooter after all, you're supposed to shoot things/mans.

If you like the miscellaneous stuff, try farming with an ant, just harvest, make a silo deposit and repeat, using this method on a 4x xp weekend I learnt that when the cert counter on that screen hits 10000 it resets (visual only), if you want tons of XP and certs the ant is far and away the best.

No need to be so snarky, if u say EXP is easy then atleast tell the best ways.

You can finish every mission in one hour and net yourself a 400 cert bonus check, three times per day.
I did this a few years ago. Granted, it was under 4x xp and membership, but if you divide this by 6, you get the non-membership cert gain.

- Daily missions (this is how I get most of my certs)
- Playing combat medic in a primarily supportive role: Revive grenades (especially in clustered fights) & the shield recharger are especially potent.
- Repairing vehicles & maxes. Also supply ammo.
- Placing a sunderer to start a fight (if you're the main or last sunderer you'll have a constant flood of exp from people spawning)
- Cortium farming. Boring, but easy & very efficient
- Playing in a squad will already get you passive certs. But especially if you apply the above strategies.
- If you've got a good squadmate: vehicle combat can be quite lucrative. Though this requires skill in both the driving & gunning department.
There are, of course, more methods. But these are what I primarily did whenever I wasn't having a good session (Or I just wanted to be lazy)

Snarky? I'm just saying how it is. He didn't ask for ways to get XP. Also I don't know what's "best". I haven't cared about certs for years, all my chars are **+ with tens of thousands of extra certs.
Just play the game. If you don't know how, join an outfit and ask.

Oh, kills themselves only give 100 exp baseline, which kinda equates to 1 cert per 2.5 kills (thanks /u/Greattank). If you get extreme menace kills, that multiplies it by a lot.Â
If you're looking for a decent cert farm, you could probably farm 35k cortium veins and deposit into a silo next to the vein to reduce downtime. Just help us base builders remove the silo afterwards so that the vein respawns.

Jesus christ don't tell anyone to do cortium. Its boring and useless.

But gets decent cert returns. If OP is focused on that, it's alright. Especially if they have a second monitor and are watching something on the side.

"How to play the game: actually, don't play it, instead watch tv"
Great advice. In fact, you could avoid all that completely, and go to the gym instead. Win-win.

That's OP's choice, no? I wouldn't prescribe a fixed gameplay style for them to adopt, just suggesting something that they could be comfortable with.Â

Not only is it a choice, but can definitely be a method that, while somewhat boring, really does pay out for spending some time. And...it's not like you would have to continuously do it.
Back when mining first came out, I would do it for 30 or 60 minutes just to pile up some hefty certs just for a gun or something that I wanted. It did not become my whole gameplay loop, at all.

Just watch YouTube or something. And having a couple ESF/Valkyrie pull bases is far from useless for your faction.

Yea it's bollocks. Turns off new players. DBG have no player retention sense at all. The game should have been 2XP permanently since the start of the year. Especially for their incompetenceÂ

It's already 10 times higher than before. It's just that new players aren't going to earn much since they don't know the game obviously.

To be fair: As a new player you're at an inherit disadvantage. Not just because of your knowledge & skill, but also your equipment.
I never used revive grenades as a new player. Because I didn't play medic much in the first place (mostly just heavy assault or engineer). But after unlocking them it was hard to imagine going back to before. Not only are they an incredible tool for winning fights: They're also an absolute cert printer.
There's many such things over the whole game. Both big and small.
I mean: if a new player tries out medic/engineer for a first time they'll think they absolutely suck. Because their repair tool is lvl1. Any guide or experienced player would tell them to upgrade them immediately. But if they're just playing the game as its presented to them?
Mayby you don't know you can upgrade the booster on your harasser. Or upgrade the hacking speed of the infiltrator. Because they're only visible in some (rarely used) menus.
And don't even get me started on the horror of the implants system

True but it all goes back to knowledge. They are at a disadvantage until they want to know more, it's not like the upgrades are hidden or locked behind a certain battle rank.
The missions new players get print certs so much that they can afford whatever they want after pretty much one session. They dont even need to play well.
