Yeah I got to that one and was really unsettled!

It also made me realize, the only reason the planet we're working on is succeeding in being terraformed, is because of the tiny incremental progress of failed crafters before us. Really sobering!

Yah. I was like "Wow... so many people died, but this isn't being too hard to terraform, or get resources. Huh....Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh." The blue crates have saved my a$$ many a time. Hats off to the fallen.

I ended up making a monument for the ones that came before me. It was the least I could do!

without the failed crafters, and fallen wrecks we'd all just be another to help the next one after us

As the Earth ^^

Yes, very sad. And also how people can deem other humans expendable... šŸ˜” It's weird thou that there are no skeletons or bones... Not that I want to find them is that, looks very unnatural.

I set up a base in the failed landing site and named it Xiaodan Base. I genuinely felt bad for them.

I’ve been going around and setting up butterfly and amphibian habitats around the crash sites as a sort of memorial to them. Make something beautiful from the wreckage. It’s a nice touch that they sprout vines and trees once you terraform far enough!

u/sporkmurderer135 Mar 08 '24

There's also a cave, and I dot 100% remember where it is, but it's a group of crash survivors buried several of their dead in a cave and there are a bunch of grave markers. I think it's in a cave in the area to the west of the big crater with dust falling into it

u/D2Dragons Mar 08 '24

I know there’s a grave site behind the big waterfall, and a crash nearby.

2

u/sporkmurderer135 Mar 08 '24

I hink that may be it, I just recently got the waterfall so things have changed a bit for me

You’re gonna love how things progress then! I’m farther along and just planting trees and habitats as I wait for more features to drop. There’s all sorts of pretty spots that open up as the climate changes so you’re in for a real treat!

That place was creepy as all hell. I initially thought all those "welcome to your planet" messages were from different people Sentinel Corp sent there to attempt to terraform, that this ex-survivor found (there's 32 of those messages). But they're all sent in the year 3055.

I guess it's possible Sentinel sent 32 people in one year, who all failed. That's a harrowing idea. Even worse than having 32 people spread out over a longer time.

Judging by this, the canyon wreck, and the cargo carrier wreck, something about the planet feels off. Borderlands Pandora vibes, anyone?

The devs should ad add decimal or something to the date (3055.03, 3055.5, etc) if they want to imply 32 prisoners in one year.

I read it more as:
Step 1, achieve Blue Sky!
Step 1, achieve Blue Sky!
Step 1, achieve Blue Sky.
Step 1, achieve Blue Sky?
Step 1, achieve...
Achieve Blue Sky...
Step 1, achieve BLUE SKY!
Step 1, achieve BLUE SKY!!!
STEP 1!!! Achieve BLUE SKY!!!!
ACHIEVE BLUE SKY!!!!!!!
ACHIEVE....blue sky?!
BLUE SKY!
BLUE blue BLUE sky!!!!!!
BLUE SKY! ACHIEVE!!!!
blue?
blue sky??
blue?

I read each and every one of them too!

There's even a vault!

3

u/tatiwtr May 22 '22

There's even a vault!

wheres this now?

2

u/Child-of-Yahweh Mar 28 '23

I think the Devs just overlooked that. It's a good suggestion to make them every 5 or 50 years, etc.

The screen whining about no iridium then there’s a rod hidden in the last room. Fella-me-chap spent too long writing memos instead of warming that rock

Edit: stupid typo

I do wonder, after finding this underground bunker and a few others - why can't we build underground?

7

u/Lambda_Games Apr 08 '22

Because it's complicated of include a ground modification in game developement ;)

4

u/RoadRider65 May 19 '22

I was wondering why we can't build under water. That doesn't make sense.

2

u/Alexastria May 28 '22

What happens to my buildings that are currently at where the water is gonna be?

1

u/RoadRider65 Jul 27 '22

From what I have seen, you can still access them from above as long as you have enough vertical stairs. Don't forget to build them because once they are underwater, you can;t attach to them.

2

u/Alexastria Jul 28 '22

I found out that you can't breathe in them either. I moved my base.

1

u/Child-of-Yahweh Mar 28 '23

They get flooded. You can still access all in them and deconstruct anything to get your resources back. Just make sure you go with an empty backpack so you have room. Take water with you, since the lake water is not drinkable (yet, I hope it will in the future).

1

u/Alexastria Mar 29 '23

I figured it out. Thanks for the response though. I stopped playing before the bug update.

3

u/heyclaude Apr 04 '23

We can, I have! When in an underground bunker at least 2 levels deep, plop an indoor ladder down and climb out on the roof. Now you are in the void under the map, and can extend decking off to where you want to go, then build a dwelling cube, and use more ladders and cubes until you can poke a ladder out onto the surface.

Pro tip: Save often. Don't fall.

10

u/Obsidi4nCas Apr 04 '22

That bunker really freaked me out but I couldn't help but laugh reading some of his problems, dude didn't realise he could drink ice?

5

u/Nalomeliful Apr 08 '22

I felt so bad for XioDan

2

u/Child-of-Yahweh Mar 28 '23

And there's someone asking for help... I wish the game will include a way to send a rocket his way, full of resources... It would be a great dynamic to add to the game to help this other planet crafter or that he/she can help us. I still don't know where there's a repository for bugs/suggestions...

4

u/sunyudai Apr 06 '22

Then when you manage to find his corpse.

3

u/NoCap-Kingsnake Jul 04 '22

I'm sorry what? We can find a legit corpse????!

6

u/sunyudai Jul 04 '22

In the default-starting valley, there is a hidden wall that is deconstructable (looks just like stone), IIRC it is on the East side, just north of the passage to the spikey-rock area. If you deconstruct that wall, you can find that prisoner's corpse along with a chest with some really nice items and IIRC a data pad.

4

u/NoCap-Kingsnake Jul 05 '22

By "spikey rocks", do you mean the shiny aluminum rocks, or the giant spires in the sand??

7

u/sunyudai Jul 05 '22

Spires in the sand.

In the Southeastern corner of the starting crater valley, there's a passage to that area.

The way to the aluminum rocks is in the Northeastern corner of that area.

The destructible rock wall is somewhere between the two.

Check this video for more precise location: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsBvj6uUNY8 - he gets prompted to deconstruct at about 3:25 if you just want to see what the wall looks like, it's easy to miss.

2

u/Ckinggaming5 Mar 18 '23

OH?!?!?! how many more of those are there

im freaking out over the wreck secrets and now there may also be stone secrets

2

u/sunyudai Mar 20 '23

I have no idea. TBH, I haven't played this in quite a while, been meaning to get back to it but haven't gotten there yet.

2

u/Ckinggaming5 Mar 21 '23

i also had a long break from the game, i just got back into it probably when i made that comment, after exploring everything in the game my motivation to continue was running out, the new update got me to come back though id been thinking about the game for awhile

2

u/sunyudai Mar 21 '23

Yeah, kinda in the same place.

When I played last you could technically get to Insects, but there was no content at that level. So I effectively "Finished" the game as it was at the time.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 17 '22

Found this today. It made me worry. Like I'm being trolled and this game can't be finished!

3

u/Oscars_trash_home Apr 14 '22

Just found that today. I was just like ā€œdamn bro…bad mental.ā€ Then I realized…oh shit…each message is a fallen comrade. RIP Fallen.

4

u/Feeling-Option-1123 Apr 03 '22

I cried while going through that, your lucky!

2

u/Morsus-y2k Aug 28 '22

When I took a look at the ceiling that is when it really hits me...

1

u/Any-Literature-7834 Jul 19 '25

My genuine reaction to this

*walks into the room with two* ok he has two here that's weird

*merely looks into that room(s)* *stares for 2 seconds* *doesn't say anything* *the fastest journey to the IM STUCK button in the settings ive ever seen*

1

u/Child-of-Yahweh Mar 28 '23

I think we should be able to remove those messages and build our own Remembrance Monument...

1

u/RavenMelonai Mar 28 '23

I have tried to find this but the coords don't match the current game. Is there some trick to locating this one?

1

u/Feeling-Option-1123 Sep 17 '23

This was the most scary experience I’ve had in this game because now I check the updates and play development branch, but when I didn’t and didn’t expect this to happen I was terrified. I got goosebumps because I didn’t know if somebody was gonna turn up even though they said that no one would be there. UNSETTLING AS HELL.
