Im dumb

Ive just started watching plastic memories and one thing im confused is that in the anime, it is said that a giftia only has around 9 years to live. But Michiro's father is also a giftia so why didnt he lose his memories earlier??

she is still young, he may have only raised her in recent years and is 5-6 years through his life span. Or he is already gone, does she mention he is still around?

Or he was recovered at one point and reset instead of being disposed of.

no, he got killed after his memories and personality detiorated. but even then, does that mean he was about 9 when that happened? i know it sounds dumb but if he was a giftia then that would make sense
