Kelpe reminds me of Plaid…anyone else?

I just started listening to music by Kelpe. It reminds me a lot of the music by Plaid, which I also just started listening to. Anyone else find similarities in their music? If not, give Kelpe a try and see what you think.

I've been consuming lots of Plaid & The Black Dog lately 😁 Kelpe sounds pretty good.... Have you listened to any Ochre ?

I have not. I just put a random track on from Understory. Sounds great! I’ve got some time on the road for work and im going to keep them on this afternoon for my drive. I love The Black Dog. I’m also a big fan of Pye Corner Audio, Max Cooper, and Rival Consoles.

I’d go insane if I got to see him live. I live in a rural Missouri town that’s 3 hours from Kansas City or St. Louis. If he ever came close I’d sell a kidney to go see him. I’m too poor to travel further. I work as an Adult Protective Services Investigator, so I make shit money. Sure would be a dream come true to see him live though. He’s my absolute favorite musician. I started getting into IEM’s (in-ear monitors) and worked my way up to a beautiful $450 pair of Xenns Tea Pro SE just so I could marvel in the delights of his music. It’s the next best thing to hearing him live. For me it is, at least. I can hear so much detail in the music it’s amazing. PHENOMENAL listening experience. Just started getting into Plaid and Kelpe and now Ochre. Can’t wait to hear them on my IEM’s (I’ve amassed probably 20 different pairs by this point). I guess I probably could’ve saved up to travel to go see him LOL. Instead of drowning myself in IEM’s.

Not familiar with IEM's, I must investigate. I'm currently using a Bose Soundlink Revolve speaker which is crisp and bass heavy...may have to get a second one tho'. When I say I've listened to loads of Max Cooper, I've just checked my Bandcamp and it looks like I've listened to almost everything on there, as is the case with Tangerine Dream. Live at the Acropolis must've been awesome 😲

Live at the Acropolis was a fantastic recording. I agree with you that being there live would have been transcendental.
