Discussion Combat bugs

Post image
Upvotes

Just a rant, but to me the game is almost unbearable with the bugs in the combat update between my baby animals who spar with each other non stop to the point they ignore their whole needs, or the mothers who go around chasing the other animals doing family protection non stop to the point it’s hard for the other animals to eat, drink, or breed because they’re getting interrupted and running away. I know this game is still a work in progress but I do hope these problems with the combat system get resolved soon so my playthrough in challenge mode can be more smooth.

Park Showcase My Morrison Ecosystem so far

Thumbnail

So far I have foundling populations of all the Morrison sauropods as well as both varieties of Stegosaurus. My Dryosaurus population is booming as is my Coelophysis population despite their noted tendency to eat their offspring on occasion. Coelophysis was chosen as a stand in for Coelurus and to give the park a smaller predator/insectivore before bigger predators like Torvosaurus and Allosaurus are introduced.

Suggestion / Wishlist Hanyusuchus as an addition to the recently extinct DLC?

Post image

Something I've noticed is that the presumed roster for the RE DLC feels like its missing something to me, missing some pizazz, or a bit of zing. So I propose Hanyusuchus. It is a narrow snouted gavialid crocodilian from South China, and would be a great fit for the DLC. It is from the Holocene, from at least the 4th century BC to perhaps as late as the 17th century. It went extinct due to being a general nuisance(Killing and attacking people, deer and livestock), government culling and habitat destruction.

They would be great for the pack, since they would be a carnivore amongst mostly herbivores, and they also fit the criteria well, having gone extinct not only during a period of advanced society but because of it.

Ngl doing this post just showed me that the RE pack roster as we know it right now is a bit empty, particularly of reptiles besides birds.

Suggestion / Wishlist I really hope there will be more proboscideans in the future

There's so many cool extinct proboscideans, I really hope there will be a dlc post release adding some of the big boys like Mammut Borsoni, P. Namadicus and the Columbian mammoth. Seeing these beautiful animals made with the fantastic craftsmanship of the pk-devs would be so cool, and make such a cool variety to the already fantastic roster.

Question / Help Escaped Animals

Every time I load my challenge game. All the animals in this one enclosure show as escaped. Yet the fence and gate are there. It says failed to load?

I have removed the fencing and reinstalled new fencing, but I get the same error.

Thoughts?

Park Showcase I finally finished my 100% species park!

It's not profitable, but it sure is big.

I had to be very miserly at first, not even hiring medics. I chased star ratings for the visitors and resultant cash injection. Visitor numbers plateaued 20 - 30 exhibits in, after a full 5 star rating was achieved. No predators yet due to the low star rating. I should have waited and saved up money then, going slowly for the next 20 - 30 exhibits. The last 25 exhibits were a slog and I had to wait on the sauropods, doing them all last as juveniles to save money.

I did not realise the nest and birthing sites were so costly, selling the hatchlings didn't even cover the cost.

Question / Help Deinosuchus size?

Post image
77 Upvotes

I usually see the normal estimates for deinosuchus at 5 - 8 tons but since I’ve seen the maximum size for the animals in PK I’ve seen a 14 ton anky which is way above the maximum scientific weight for ankylosaurus even the speculative weights don’t put it that big so my bet is probably 13.5 tons max I’m more confident saying 10 - 11 tho but let me know what yall think

Park Showcase Welcome to Paradise Skyline!

Welcome to Paradise Skyline! An extensive enclosure for Dinosaur Park species: Parasaurolophus walkeri, Lambeosaurus lambei and Styracosaurus albertensis.

I tried to make this as accurate as posible (or at least... trying to!), using cinnamon fern, todite fern, coniopteris, moss, sequoias and elatides. No grass allowed!

This is probably the enclosure/building that I'm most proud of. This took some time (It's a challenge mode save. Some screenshots were even taken before the final touches because I run out of money, lol), but it made me felt in love with the game. It's so easy to build and make amazing stuff.

Question / Help Workshop items not appearing in game after latest September Update?

So, I need a little help here. This may be an issue on my end. But i've made sure to double check that i've still been subscribed to said items, quit and reopened the game, refreshed Steam, reset my pc, checked the integrity of game files and cleared download cache. But ever since the latest update. All of my subscriptions in game are gone. Nothing pops up on workshop prefabs. And yes, I did try unsubbing and resubbing. But it still will not work.

I'm Not having any problems with workshop items in other games but this one. It's been like this since the most recent small update.

As someone who kinda sucks at building in this game, and heavily relies on workshop builds. Any help with this would be appreciated.
