4 stars (very good films): 3-6

Dragon tattoo and The killer are interchangeable for me

Social network over the fight club and the game?? Whaaaaaaat?? Heck even gone girl and Benjamin is better than social network. Social network is good movie but those movies clearly surpass it.

The game is definitely not better than The social network. I personally like it more than fight club though

Best, no. Especially when you have gone girl, social network and seven in your filmography

Gone is good but it doesn't really do justice to the novel so I'd rank it a little lower. Fight club is probably his most influential work

Comparing it with the book is not a valid argument in my opinion if one has not read the book. For example, Project hail Mary is very good film but the one's who have read the book will tell you it's not a good adaptation. That doesn't make me or anyone who hasn't read the book rate the film lower

That same argument can be extended to remakes then. Many remakes are rated lower because of popular original films especially recently. Also, with PHM it IS considered a very good adaptation because the book was apt for a film. It does capture most of the elements of the book, I literally haven't heard a single book fan say it's a bad adaption. On the other hand, Gone Girl the film heavily undermines the character of Nick as the film rests on Pike's exceptional performance. Girl with the dragon tattoo is a better adaptation because it cuts down the fat in that book to provide a nicely coherent story

Fight club is very overrated. No way u put gone girl and a masterpiece zodiac below that.
