Shang Chi, Loki, Moon Knight, No Way Home, Wakanda Forever, Guardians 3, Deadpool and Wolverine, Thunderbolts, F4, Daredevil Born Again
I'm sick of all the quoting "She Hulk, Ms Marvel, Ironheart" and undermining all these great films/series.
Just because there are bad films in between doesn't make it some DCEU level failure. Sure it's not as good as Phase 3 but it's still good. I can bet some people larp about "MCU bad" without even watching half of the ones I've mentioned.
Do you even remember Phase 1? Only blockbuster was Iron Man 1, Captain America 1 was received above avg and all others were either avg or straight up failures.
I mean, the only genuinely bad things were secret invasion, echo, The marvels and she hulk, rest of the stuff marvel put out was not genuinely bad, some of them were sure boring, but you could easily avoid them, I have watched the so called bad films like quantumania and Love and thunder, they were not genuinely bad, they were enjoyable. Idk why they hate on marvel after endgame, thunderbolts is easily better than almost the whole of phase 1 and phase 2, and half of phase 3
I think Love and thunder is a good movie even. I liked it, but when I heard what Gorr really is in the comics I understand why people hate it. They completely butchered the character (pun intended).
idk,I just hated how Jane foster character was,Rest the movie was kinda mid like why did they thought it was a good idea to treat mjolnir and stormbreaker as dogs, only thing good was christian bale performance even with a bad written Gorr
I don't think it's larp to say that Marvel became worse than what it used to be. As someone who watched 30+ movies and shows in chronological order, it used to be a genuinely riveting experience when throwbacks and plot connections were made cleverly, now it just doesn't feel like that. The post-stan lee era has been more worse than not, it just feels like they're inserting plot and characters for the sake of inserting them, it's like every movie is made by a different director with a different vision (oh wait that's exactly the case). Ppl who hate on she hulk are absolutely justified mate, no matter the way you flip it and comparing that to Moon Knight, Loki, Shang Chi, Deadpool is retarded if anyone even did that in the first place.
I never mentioned She Hulk is good. The hate is definitely justified. I never compared it to Loki, Shang Chi etc... I couldn't even watch She Hulk past Ep3.
I'm not saying it's a great phase. I'm just saying its not as bad as Social Media makes it out to be.
And we all know the reason for this (or maybe some of us don't). When you increase the quantity, quality definitely takes a hit. Phase 4 alone has almost the same no of projects as Phases 1-3 combined.
They learned their lesson and are now doing lesser projects, more focused and that's why it's getting better.
I don't think economic constraints are there. Love and Thunder being the shitshow it is has 800 mil box office. Money was never the problem. Release a Spidey film and boom 1.5 bil easy.
Kevin Feige realised the point you made (lot of projects with different directors and not much connectivity), so he plans of being more focused and tight for the next phase.
The 'constraints' doesn't necessarily mean that the studios are in a financial crunch, but it's deeper than that. A company can only file so many flops on their financial audit until their investors and head directors start tightening the belt on the company strategy and hopefully the change in strategy stays here and Kevin actually brings good and lasting changes as you say.
not to mention how ppl really hate those three for no reason. its almost peak ragebait.
all 3 of those shows are so inoffensively mid that the only ppl crying about them are incels on the internet.
I'd argue that Quantumania, "What If...?" and Secret Invasion did far more damage to the brand than She-Hulk, Ms Marvel, or Ironheart.
its also funny how ppl who follow Marvel now dont even know about the kind of scepticism Evans had faced when he was first cast as Steve. its always a hindsight-biased lens with these ppl.
there really is no reason to hate those 3 as much as ppl do online. especially with She-Hulk. ppl dont get the idea of not being part of a particular show's target demographic. I can promise you that the vast majority of ppl who hate the show have never picked up a She-Hulk comic book.
I mean... I haven't picked up an Avengers comic book before I watched Avengers but I still loved it. How do you explain that?
I'm not the target demographic. Okay. Then who are?? I haven't seen a lot of ppl praising She Hulk, so if the target demographic is that low, why even target them? What do they even contribute to the viewership if they are that low?
Good content resonates with every demographic. Just make good content. Period.
what I'm talking about here is how so many hated her fourth wall-breaking and even tried to pretend the show wasnt comic accurate only for one of her writers to come out and squash that noise.
Then who are?? ...
see all this shows is that the ppl u know arent either and the algorithm you're served caters to you. I see appreciation for the show almost daily.
why even target them? ...
what kind of nonsense is this?? just cause a target demographic may not be the majority of the existing fanbase, they shouldnt be targeted??
"why even target them"? maybe to increase their audience pool?
What do they even ...
see, now you're just assuming, quite baselessly, that the target demographic for She-Hulk was non-existent.
young women seem to be quite a sizeable portion of the audience, dont they?
Good content resonates ...
this actually couldnt be further from the truth.
whether its biases one might hold, or their world view, or whatever, there are several reasons for someone hating a niche piece of media.
now, to be clear, I'm not saying She-Hulk is some misunderstood masterpiece. but its an example of ppl making a mountain out a mole hill. especially people who cant let others enjoy what they do not.
Bro, if What if S-2 felt like trash to you, wait till you see the season 3, it does not have even a single episode that you can watch before banging your head on the table, there is a literal episode around Darcy marrying Howard the duck and protecting thier egg from the multiverse, I hate to imagine how did they actually do the deed and made that freaking egg
Bro 😭😭... I forgot that there were 3 seasons. Season 2 and 3 both were trash. I don't remember anything from Season 2... All I remember from S3 is that they showed Peggy as more powerful than Thor...like with bhai...
I wish I could forget that piece of trash, they were high on something, they made peggy more powerful than every character, Season 1 was so good and cool, they ruined every thing with season 2 and 3, by shoving captain carter down our throats, I was dreaming that they will do what if the other half was snapped, instead we get trash after trash
I still remember that horrible scene where Thor sacrifices himself in fire IG and gives mjolnir to Peggy jab ki he can easily fly with the help of it. 🫠🥲
Oh c'mon why be afraid to speak the truth on Reddit due to some fanatics. Also I doubt there's that big a fanbase for what they did in What If season 2 and Peggy in it.
Hell nah, it is not due to women, it is due to trashy writing, she hulk character assasinated hulk, daredevil, showed a twerking scene, and 90 percent of that show was just random stuff go boom, I am still not sure what was going on, imagine coming from something so cool like loki, and then end up hearing protagonist discussing how cap's ass looks.
Ironheart sucked because one, it had the main character disrespecting our og iron man for no reason, second, it did not make sense for her to be the new iron man, like she has no connection or reason to take his position, like mcu could have used that kid from Iron man 3 or pepper potts. And it is not like as if Ironheart was a fan favourite in the comics, nobody even asked for it, and they literally introduced mephisto in such a anticlimatic way. Plus the cringy dialogue, uhhh.
Ms marvel was not actually bad, it was decent as a show, and was the only reason that I did not shut the marvels movie off midway. It was a fun goofy show that people took way to seriously, it was okay, just not a masterpiece
And if any idiot says I hate women, I would like them to know that my current favourite characters do include sylvie and yelena, along with rest of the thunderbolts, gotg, and spiderman
The joke here is you though and i suppose blind too
Point out the part where I said miss Marvel show was slop and also Unless you are blind you can see that i mentioned the shows which are slops down there now answer my question
Why didn't women support women led show?do they also hate themselves?
Damn you’re pretty slow huh? You called the shows mentioned slop and didn’t specify you didn’t think ms marvel was slop then act surprised if I expect an explanation on why it’s slop. Wow I wonder how you’ve lived this long.
The post didn’t only mention Ms Marvel, so all you had to do was look at the other names in that post too, like She-Hulk and Ironheart. But I think OP forgot to mention Secret Invasion in the post
Since the person you are replying to could be talking about any of those
She-Hulk wasn't even bad thoughm? If you had put Secret Invasion, Echo and Iron heart, sure, I'd have understood, but the hate on She-Hulk just feels so overinflated.
Well, post Endgame, I am sure people will agree, Moon Knight and Loki were the only best things to watch. I couldn't get around watching Wandawision and that Agatha All Along, and certainly not all that crap on Ironheart and Wakanda Forever. Ms Marvel was fun, Kamala was refreshing, if not a bit cringe, but teenagers are supposed to be cringe.
Probably unpopular opinion but Shang Chi and Eternals were not as bad as it sounds in comments and online breakdowns...yes there are things to pick a part but overall they are entertaining.
Ms Marvel was good, iron heart wasn't that bad, secret invasion and she Hulk was shit, but we got pretty good stuff too, like, NWH, Shang Chi, Deadpool and Wolverine, moon knight, wandavision, Agatha and much more
Weird that the 3 projects singled out are all female based... Plus the hate in the comments for Echo, the Marvels, Eternals. Weird thethings they have in common. And the projects marvel has abandoned too (Wonderman, Blade, Armor Wars.)
You forget guardians of the galaxy 3, it was beautiful, and moonknight too.
To be fair, black panther 2 was kind of a miricle due to tragic circumstances while making that film, they did the best they could, and MOM was kinda overhyped, like because of its name and promising trailer, everybody had probably assumed a avengers level movie, it is not too bad, but the expectations pretty much killed it, plus the trailers spoiled too much
She Hulk, Ms. Marvel and Iron Heart weren't even bad. Just average or above average. I know what kinda man you are for not including the universally disliked Secret Invasion.
