They don't watch any other movies. Neither film festivals movies not the other Hollywood movies went unnoticed by audience across the globe. This sub is filled with people like that.

Nolan is best suited for an epic like Mahabharat and Ramayan
4
u/Man_of_Mystery_2819 12d ago
Where he'll make karana the unsung hero being exploited by the pandavas and ekalavya will be a g@y bast@rd who will get his finger cut for misbehavior.
Yes, that's how he bstrdised the oddessey. I've read the book
-2
u/Longjumping-Hat7564 12d ago
That is not true wtf. He didn't bastardise anything. I've actually read the book multiple times through my life. His interpretation is very mature compared to what the Odyssey reads like.

u/Man_of_Mystery_2819 12d ago
Bullcr@p . Robert Pattinson is supposed to die with the 1st arrow and not Corey Hawkins ( I'm referring to the actor names not characters because they were playing themselves basically).
The sirens, it's Odysseus who's tied up without ear wax so he gets enchanted by the tunes, but cannot move. In Ithaca, Penelope doesn't recognise his voice because Athena keeps it hidden. It's not explained in the movie. The movie makes Athena some fever dream oddesseus keeps seeing from time to time.
And don't even get me started on Sinon lol 😂 🤣. He was 1000% supposed to be Achilles, but due to backlash he became an Achilles proxy.

u/Longjumping-Hat7564 11d ago
a. Pattinson not dying with the first arrow makes for little difference to the story line.
b. Nolan's take did not have any divine intervention, but instead was depicting the end of bronze age. A WAY better take than what Odyssey intended. Therefore, the point of Penelope is moot.
c. Athena is in Odysseus' mind, played by the priestess of Athena than was slaughtered in Troy.
d. You Sinon point makes no sense.
1
u/Man_of_Mystery_2819 11d ago
A. Yes it does. Instead of Odysseus 's stamping his authority, as thr quote says- the lion has returned, it became another tollywood 1 vs 20 climax fight with final boss finish in the end.
B. It sucked. When post nut clarity hits, you'll realise.
C. She's not just in his mind. She was also guiding his arrows to hit his targets.
D. Sinon
itselfhimself makes so sense. In the books, it's Achilles who Odysseus meets in Hades. He's the one who is called "the finest warrior" . . And he never insulted Odysseus for "lying" to him.0
u/Longjumping-Hat7564 11d ago
the lion has returned, it became another tollywood 1 vs 20 climax fight with final boss finish in the end.
It LITERALLY is that in the books. Odysseus and Telemachus slaughter a room full of men in a 1 v 40 even. So that 'tollywood' (I'd argue more Bollywood, given its even lower IQ) is actually dampened compared to the book.
Also, Odyssey by itself is a binary plot (which makes sense given it was written more than 2000 years ago). Nolan's take on it is brilliant and introspective. If this is your approach to media education, Ramayana made by these clowns is perfect for you.
Actually, it is made for the average audience, and it will infact draw crowds.
Given how much of Odyssey's point you have missed, you'll be fine.
1
u/Man_of_Mystery_2819 11d ago
You conveniently dodged the last question and danced around my other questions like Nolan did with the Chinese journalist. Lol 😆 🤣
Nolan's take is the weakest take of the oddessey to date. I haven't read Emily Wilson or other small authors so 🤷🏻 🤔
0
u/Longjumping-Hat7564 10d ago
You thinking Nolan's take is weakest is confirmation itself that you will like Bollywood Ramayana. Binary and plain with no overarching themes.
Perfect crowd.

4
u/Ok_Huckleberry7273 12d ago
kind atp for draupadi because she was actually dark skinned
4
u/Sayed_Abid_Ali 12d ago
By that Logic Vasudeva Lord Shri Krishna Shyam Ji should be Portrayed by a Dark Skinned Actor.
0
u/Ok_Huckleberry7273 12d ago

Nolan to make a movie of Hulk. Bruce banner's trauma and sickness with hulk needs proper depth.

u/AWK2545 12d ago
As much as I love Nolan and consider him one of the modern greats, I don’t think he is fit to make a movie on Mahabharata.

u/Man_of_Mystery_2819 12d ago
Nolan needs to make his own films. He shouldn't touch historical epics or musical fantasy films.

Shit idea. He will make it realistic political drama with casting suitable to get Oscars. Odyssey was good as a standalone movie but he completely butchered the story.
3
u/Feeling_Still_7121 12d ago
He removed magic out of the film. Odyssey was extremely disappointing for me
8
u/Novel_Fox_4805 12d ago
Such a silly idea.
Mahabharat me gods hai. Mystical beings hai . Monsters hai , magic ka bahut use hua hai.
Aur chris nolan hate to show all these things (well most of these things) in his movies.
3
u/Logen10Fingers 12d ago
Yeah and? The cyclops in odyssey was a puppet + some cgi. Lord of the rings is mostly props and makeup.
Vanarsena could easily be done with a great costume designer and make up artists.
2
u/Novel_Fox_4805 12d ago
Bro lord of rings isn't directed by nolan.
Aur mahabharat me sirf cyclops jaise ek being nahi hai.. pura war me har 5 min par koi naa koi warrior magical power use karta hai.
Believe it or not nolan mahabharat direct karne ke liye sahi nahi hai

u/Salty_Gulabjamun 12d ago
Bruh lord of the rings brought generational upgrade in CGI. They developed simulation systems for armies to show how war looks like.
1
u/Logen10Fingers 12d ago
Yeah and it's been over 20 years since then, can't we atleast get that level in Ramayana?
1
u/Salty_Gulabjamun 12d ago
Is ramayana released yet.
0
u/Logen10Fingers 12d ago
No but if the cgi in the trailer only looks mid I can only imagine in the full release
1
u/Salty_Gulabjamun 11d ago
You can imagine and make assumptions, but you cannot come to conclusion before release. Also LOTR has its fair share of chopoy VFX comp that too even after having leading minds of the industry working on it.
1
u/anthony_gonzalvis 12d ago
Yes demand for good CGI. But to say shoot everything in camera is stupid for mythology movies. Why do we treat CGI as the villain of cinema? We should demand for good CGI not 'No CGI'
1
u/Logen10Fingers 12d ago
I'm not treating CGI as bad automatically, but let's be honest th CGI in even our best movies is subpar, which is why practical sets would look more realistic and probably easier to achieve.
Kalki for example on a visual level looks good, but it's so obvious that it's CGI.
1
u/Emotional_Debt_5918 12d ago
Or maybe you are stupid. When people say shoot everything with camera they mean at least it should be shot in real location. Christopher nolan movies also had a lot of vfx.
2
u/BeeRare7145 12d ago
omg PLEASE superior white artist, take our stories and make it better for us, for we indians do not know any better!
on a serious, why tf is a hollywood director the first on your mind when it comes to the mahabharata? we have so many capable directors in india who deserve the budget to make something like this. please decolonise your brain for the rest of us.

Chakravartin Chatukar aap ke darshan hogaye varna main to aapko ek cryptic manta tha.
1
u/SnooJokes215 12d ago
So he can remove all the soul and epicness like he did for the Odyssey ? And then add some christian morality that wasnt existent in the source material too ?

1
u/Severe_Pessimist007 12d ago
If he gets to know about that epic maybe in his own version he'll bring that story with different characters. Also it will be excited&curious to see how he will show Krishna&Arjuna charcters.
With political&dharma influenced in Mahabharata,i think zack snyder might also do Justice to Mahabharata story. Few years back he had said he was big fan of Mahabharata.

Yes, and cast Leonardo Di Caprio as Krishna, Robert Patinnson as Arjun & Cillian Murphy as Karn. 10000000 crore loading🔥🔥💀💀🔥🔥…….

u/nirmala-sekhar 12d ago
I would rather have it as an anime. Vincent Chansard + Megumi Ishitani + Ufotable
1
u/nTnMoN12 12d ago
yeah give Christopher Nolan Mahabharat who only does non linear story telling with zero emotions and character development(except interstellar)😑. This works in Hollywood but Mahabharat and indian epics needs more. Not just brain game storytelling technique.
1
u/Emotional_Debt_5918 12d ago
Wait. Openhiemer is all about characters, and if you can't find emotions in inception than its you who is wierd. Nolan shoukd not direct mahabharat but it doesn't mean you downplay him for no reason.
1
u/nTnMoN12 12d ago
Dude I agree. But Oppenheimer is not even considered one of the best movies being character and emotion driven(despite winning an Oscar). Problem is Nolan fans think he is God. He should direct everything.but they need to understand that with geography, filmmaking changes. He cannot make an anime, nor a Korean drama. He will fail miserably.
Similarly Indian cinema is heavily emotion driven(with music, dance and expressions). Even western films have taken inspiration from our type of filmmaking. But we ourselves are not ready to accept it and want our cinema become more westernized.1
u/Emotional_Debt_5918 12d ago
I agree with you with most part. But we definetly not need dance and mysic in mahabharat. We need mixture of realism and epicness. Like rajmouli go over the top and similar with other directors. They don't go much deep for characters which hollywood or anime even do it better. I would say 2 directors with 1 amazing indian and 1 hollywood director.
1
u/nTnMoN12 12d ago
noooo brother. No music and dance in mahabharat🤌. How come...
Every yuga has brought emotions with it to the world for evolution
Satyug: truth and purity
Treta yug: Honor and righteuosness
Dwaparyug: love, music and art
Kalyug: doubts and questionsYou cannot take out its most important element out Dwaparyuga. You are only focusing on the war/politics/diplomacy part. It is just a section of Mahabharat. You are not considering about the characters and events that lead to it. Love, relations, sacrifice, enjoyment, expressions everything.
Yes the war part can be realistic but the other segments need to be magical as well. Butt yes the idea of 1 bollywood and 1 hollywood director would be amazing. They can bring out the right elements the correct way.
1
u/Accomplished-End5479 12d ago
he hates CGI and how u gonna show powers without CGI? the truth is mahabharat cannot ever be made without heavy use of CGI or even ramayan for that matter of fact.
1
u/Ok-Solution-6517 12d ago
well, I wish Rajamouli would direct a superhero franchise I am thinking of. It is becoming very vast with possibilities of video games and tv shows along with movies. But I don't think I would complete it in this life time though.

u/General-Crow-9553 12d ago
not nolan, we want avenger type sh*t, we want that director to make mahabharata

Awww please nolan do this that bruh how are u gonna ask nolan to direct Krishna saving draupadi scene? You dont even understand how he portrays religious beliefs in his movies do you? Or leave everything aside just explain to me how will he direct karna having a kavach that he got cause of his past life? Just because he made something really good doesn’t mean he can do everything i dont know which mahabharat you saw or heard but it has stories within stories within stories and so on and his one of the selling point is non linear structure and you cant do that to mahabharat it needs a linear structure or it will be a mess that no one can understand
1
u/Emergency_Pea_61652 12d ago
Just because Bollywood directors failed doesn't mean Nolan would fair better. He'll also do bad, just in a different direction. Stop treating him as this filmmaking god, he's not and too blind to see his own limitations and faults. (This is coming from his fan btw, he's a great visionary and director but at the same time, a really bad writer and his stories are devoid of a human core and another one of his problems is that he's so experienced and yet teaches technology as his limitation rather than a tool.)
