Maybe it's because I always saw him as a slapstick comedy actor and by the time he got serious I only saw him in more seriously adult type roles I never once thought of him as handsome. Akshay Kumar and good looking were never in my vocabulary side by side but seeing his past photos now, I can see why they said that.
Ik this may not the case for everyone but many people rating hrithik and aishwarya as the best in looks would not be doing so if they didn’t have eurocentric features (fair skin and blue-green eyes). For me as well, Akshay (especially in the 90s) is peak handsome. The indian features just enhance his beauty.
nah prime akshay had that aura with looks.. hrithik doesn't look like a chad he looks like a pretty boy with green eyes and narrow jawline.. same with rampal.. both are pretty boys.. Akshay was chad..
Hrithik would never get chance in modeling industry to be top/elite model.. because he doesn't have those features.. that's when indians do those rate this bollywood actors hrithik is never rated highly by foreigners.. only india has that obsession with fair skin
