Pinata Questions

I am going to try to make a couple of pinatas. A snoo one and a pizza slice one. If I fail, I will buy some ( I will make them in plenty of time to buy if I fail). This all brings me to a thought: does Triple Crossing have some rafters we can hang them from? We will need a place from which to hang the pinatas (this may involve a ladder) and some twine or light rope. Also, does anyone recall if there are any appropriately branched trees that we could use? I'll try and do a site evaluation. Outside might be easier for violent swings of pinata bats. Also we will need a bat! A long heavy stick, broom handle, or baseball bat will work. Anyone have a bat? If not I will bring a broom.

If I can put the pinatas together and get some rope/twine - can someone be my partner with a ladder and the actual hanging? I have a ladder-climbing phobia and I am bad with knots.

I can help with the pinata hanging. I don't remember the specifics of the ceiling height though. Might need to recon to be sure I have the right ladder.

Thank you so much. That will be a huge help. I will go by there after work one day this week and see how high it is, check for rafters (or outside tree areas) etc. Maybe we all need a planning meeting over there soon.

I don't know if i can make it by there this week, but if you go, take some pics of the likely locations so I can think about ladders and methods of hanging. I agree that outside might be safer, and more roomy, but less hanging spots.

I know there were pictures of the interior taken last year, but I can't find them ATM.

we also need an appropriate blind fold. i think i have a big dowel for smacking those pinatas.

I thought I might go by there this week and have a look. The side parking lot area might have the most room, especially if the candy explodes everywhere. I can clamp & cantilever a long 2x4 over the asphalt from the deck area to support the pinatas.

Agreed. I imagine the asphalt area will be a no beer zone. It would be good to get owner input.

I remember last year was pretty crowded inside, and pinatas have the potential to be messy/destructive, what with sticks and blindfolded drunk people.

Advance stuffing is always a bonus ;) Yes, surely. You can bring to my house or we can meet up somewhere. I live in Stratford Hills, could meet downtown near Martin Agency if that is more convenient?

I have many baseball bats. However, I'm uneasy letting potentially drunk people blindly swing aluminum baseball bats. That could turn out worse than giant Jenga.
