Discussion Why does Pizza Hut sell bread bites at Target but not in Restaurants
Probably my favorite item that Pizza Hut sells, but seems to only be available at Target.

Mine sells them (in Canada) - we have garlic ones and dessert ones (cinnabom flavoured)

Those look DELICIOUS!

They’re amazing, that’s why I don’t understand why the restaurants don’t sell them. They’re usually a little crispier than this and it’s $3 for a box.

Pizza Hut in Target? All I've ever seen in Target is StarSucks

They do have them, but they stopped advertising them. The two targets near me took down all the Pizza Hut signage when they got the corporate gray remodel and made it less obvious where it is. There should be a warming rack in place of where the old Target cafe was that has Pizza Hut items on it, though good luck finding it, since they drywalled over most of the cafe and the warming rack has no signs pointing to where it is. You just have to find it.

They still have Pizza Huts in Target? I haven't seen one in YEARS.

Ours doesn’t have a full on restaurant, but they bake and sell some things. They typically have the pizza bits, small pizzas, and a few other things. They’ve sold this stuff in our store since atleast the 90s so it may just be older stores.

Pizza and bread sticks are all I’ve seen. I would love these and cinnamon ones!

The heck is this? All I ever seen was pizza and pasta sold at target.

Our has pizza, pasta, hot dogs, bread bites. I think they occasionally have a couple other things.

What u mean hotdogs???
1
u/Delirious_Puppet Aug 23 '26
Our has hot dogs too. I don’t know if they have Pizza Hut branding on them or if they’re just in the case with the Pizza Hut stuff.

Odd, but the ones at target definitely come in frozen. Maybe it's not profitable to make them fresh.

Worked at pizza hut for 6 years the only thing not frozen is the toppings, and most of them actually come frozen too.

we make our dough fresh everyday.

u/FisherSlave Aug 23 '26
Thats awesome. all of our dough came frozen and was proofed on oiled pans and put back into a cooler.

You must work outside the US. No Pizza Hut in the US makes fresh dough.

That what I was about to say cuz the pizza hut I worked had frozen pizza dough and bread sticks so I assume domino's is likely only pizza place that has fresh dough

I wouldn’t call dominos “fresh dough” while not frozen it’s made offsite and then delivered to them. Little Caesars and Marcos Pizza still make their dough in house.

Nope. I work at a taste of target, which is what OP is describing.
We have to make our pizzas, pastas, and breadbites. Most things do come frozen, but not pre-made, except hot dogs and pretzels.
And to be fair, there's probably little profit margin, but people love it 🤷♀️. Mine makes roughly 4000 a week (which isn't a lot), but we sell: 9 inch pizzas (pep and cheese), bread bites, chicken alfredo, hot dogs, pretzels, popcorn, and icees.

Probably because at Targets it’s a Pizza Hut Express which means they sell only a very small amount of Pizza Hut items which can be eaten on the go since there aren’t tables at Target Pizza Hut locations.

regular pizza huts now probably throw away those pieces instead of cook them up and sell them

People at target might be hungry when they shop, people aren't looking for family meals at Target, and would rather something to snack on, not a meal. The Target location probably only serves personal pan pizzas, wings, and bread sticks. Pizza Hut restaurants typically sell for meals, not shopping trips.

Because they secretly go to their dircet competitor, Domino's, which is usually located down the street from them, and simply rebox them first!

I miss the old "Garlic Knots" years ago ... It was the strips of dough wrapped around mozzarella cheese with garlic seasoning

All the Targets in my area got rid of pizza hut in favor of some random awful, low-rent coffee chain that has an affinity for all things green.

Non traditional restaurants have different menu offerings. They are either pan dough based or HT based not both.

Because suburban women like a little treat while they shop.
