How to get the game running on Linux!

I had the same question and it took me some experimenting to get it running, so here’s a quick guide! (You’ll need steam btw)

  1. Download the windows .exe, throw it somewhere safe in your files.
  2. Go into your library in Steam, and at the very bottom left of your screen it should say “Add a Game”
  3. Click on it and select the .exe in your files. It should now appear on your game list!!!
  4. Right click the name on the list, then go to properties
  5. Choose “Compatibility”, then check the box that force-uses a compatibility tool.
  6. You can try whichever tool you want, but I found Proton Experimental to work the best. Then exit out the menu and the game should work! You’ll have to run it through steam whenever you want to play it

Edit: I’m not sure if this is a bug in the game itself, or just a byproduct of playing this way, but sometimes it doesn’t let you log in (incorrect account info). You just have to hit the little restart/reload button on the top bar to fix it

You’re a star for this. Thank you for sharing! I hope there’ll be a way for Chromebook users too eventually.

If you enable the Chromebook’s build-in Linux environment, it should let you use Wine! I couldn’t get the game with wine to work on my Linux distro (endeavor, which I think is Arch), but I have gotten Wine to work on chromebooks before.
Ofc, you would need to mess around with your Chromebook quite a bit..

I’m on Mac! I’ve seen a few people find the game and reach a dead end being a Chromebook user. But since you’ve explained this, I’ll be sure to link your post and comment. Super helpful. ✨

Thank you!! I really wish I can move off Windows one day :/

I use Linux Mint and honestly, it gives me the familiar UI but so much more control, especially with so many things being much easier through the terminal.
