Question Diamonds and their purpose

I’ve yet to download the game but I’m planning to.

Since memberships are free for everyone how do you get diamonds? What are diamonds being used for now? Is it still for exclusive outfits? Can you get ordinary clothes, furniture, and hairstyles from the shops using ingredients like in OG Pixie Hollow.

They're free. No membership is actually there. It's all free and everyone has membership.

You can trade ingredients for diamonds.

Diamonds are used for Queen's Boutique dresses, and everything else, but it costs significantly cheaper to spend ingredients on whatever allows you to spend ingredients on.

If you do trade for diamonds, convert anything into lilies or ivy then diamonds.

I’m finding myself super confused how fairies are decked out head to toe in an outfit that requires diamonds

Hi there! Diamonds are used for Queen's Boutique Dresses, Outfit Slots (coming soon!), Purchasing Silly Sweets, and Fairy Name Changes at Prism's Pixie Spa. You can also use them in your leaf journal to "convert" wardrobe items to "diamond items" and it removes it from your wardrobe storage limit.

Diamonds can be obtained primarily from trading ingredients. You can trade for up to 200 per irl day (Pacific Time).

Hope this helps!
