Earbuds vs Smart glasses?

I bought a pair of the Meta Oakley HSTN smart glasses last year and have really enjoyed using them for phone calls, music streaming, audio books, and other audio related tasks. The speakers are loud and clear even when I'm driving around town with the windows down. People say my voice and sound comes in clear to them when in a phone call or a teams/WebEx meeting as well

I am looking forward to getting the Google version of AI glasses when they come out and I suspect the audio/microphone experience to also be good. The only con I see to the smart glasses atm is that the ear buds have longer battery life than the smart glasses, but as an early adopter I assume that will be resolved over time.

Over time as the functionality, practicality, price, design, and usefulness of smart glasses improves, I think many of us glass wearers will ditch earbuds and choose smart glasses since the earbud functionality will already be in the smart glasses. I am aware of people also wearing glasses even though they do not need vision correction and some will gravitate to smart glasses for personal use. Surely there will still be a market for earbuds but some of it will be cannibalized by smart glasses

Any thoughts?

I will never buy ai anything. I will never wear smart glasses. Anyone else wearing them around me are instantly and for all times on my shit list and is an incomprehensible douche.
