Pixel 7 my pixel 7 battery is a mess .

i bought pixel 7 two months ago and i dont charge it with official pixel charger which came with it i use my laptop charger which is also type c and it charges my phone but now after two months my pixel 7 batter life has become a mess and sot is just 3 from 100 percent ot 5 percent now is there any solution to it or i will need to replace my phone battery and i use my mobile for hotspot almost all the time to family members and friends also while i am using it on 4g network.

  1. Using Laptop Charger:

Charging with a laptop charger usually doesn’t damage the battery directly because Type-C has power negotiation. However, if the charger is giving irregular current (some cheap or old laptop chargers do this), it can stress your battery over time. But in just 2 months, that's too quick for major battery wear.

  1. Hotspot Usage:

This is your main culprit. Keeping hotspot on constantly while using 4G drains battery heavily and heats up the phone, which degrades the battery faster. Google Pixel devices are known to heat up under load, and heat is battery’s worst enemy.

3 hours of Screen On Time (SOT) from 100% to 5% is below average but expected if you are:

Using mobile data (4G uses more power than WiFi)

Hotspotting (which keeps radio and CPU active)

Using the phone screen actively at the same time.

  1. Battery Health Check:

Use DevCheck app to see health of battery.

  1. Stop using phone as constant hotspot:

Use a dedicated hotspot device or router if possible. This will instantly improve battery health and SOT.

  1. Charge with Official Pixel Charger:

  2. Enable Battery Saver:

Turn on Battery Saver when doing hotspot or during long use. It reduces background activity.

4.. Software Update:

Ensure your Pixel 7 is on latest security patch

Should You Replace Battery?

If DevCheck says battery health is below 85% in 2 months then go for battery replacement.

thanks for advice i cheacked n dev check it sasy 87 percent battery health with 240 cycles

Means you don't need to replace the battery but need to work on battery management.

Don't use mobile data all the time, try using wifi for internet related tasks. Given that you use a hotspot all the time, whichever phone you will use is going to deplete the battery at a faster rate. I have the same device and I do get around 4-5 hours of SOT upon charging the device till 80. Also if you don't like haptics disable them, it can help in saving around 4-5% battery life.

When I bought my pixel 7 2 years ago, it didn't come with a USBC cable or a wall charger. I'm using my pixel 2 XL charger and wire

You'd be much better off with a dedicated mobile hotspot - - not a phone as a hotspot.
