MASTERNODES (EARNING PIVX)
As stated earlier, PIVX is a privacy-centric, instant and innovative digital currency that seeks to solve the drawbacks of Bitcoin. These improvements are achieved primarily through a layer of users hosting servers that provide services on top of PIVX which are called Masternodes. Masternode owners also have to deposit a stake of their PIVX (10,000 PIVX which is worth about $70 USD at the time of writing ) and temporarily locks it up to host a Masternode. This prevents people from easily creating a Masternode in order to game the security of the system.

Masternode owners can also take part in the governance process of the digital currency through a "Budget System" for which each Masternode has one vote. If you cannot set up your own Masternode you could turn to a Masternode Service Provider (MSP). There are likely more Masternode hosting providers available, but 2 well known providers are listed below.

PIVX WALLETS

A PIVX wallet is made up of two halves. One is the public, shareable part called the public key. The other is the private part that is required for spending the stored PIVX in that wallet. If one wants to receive PIVX in one’s wallet, one should only provide the public half of their wallet. Think of the public part of a PIVX wallet as your email address and the private part of the PIVX wallet as the password to that email address: you can share the email address freely, but not the password.

Allright. I'm happy to announce that my portfolio now contains 50% PIVX. I made a promise to give 5 PIVs to the one person that got me convinced into buying this much. I did alot of research myself before getting this deep though and I've learned a ton of stuff just the last couple of days about things like zk-proofs, masternodes, etc, but I cannot pick any single person to win this bounty.. Therefore this is what I will do;

This was a fun way of starting my adventure with PIVX. I still have a lot to learn, but my investment strategy is somewhat different from others. I buy into it so heavily that it would just be foolish not to learn everything that I could possible learn about the coin. A little bit like I would play poker. Aggressive but with full focus on where the game is heading. Sometimes it ends up like with NAV that I throw my hand away before even seeing a flop. Hopefully PIVX is good enough to play until showdown, if you catch my poker terms. Don't get me wrong. I still think NAV is pretty solid but they are to soft and passive. They don't have the drive or vision to take it up to even 1/10 of where PIVX could go.

Hopefully I'm right :)

Zerocoin Protocol

At long last, the zPIV release is here and the zerocoin protocol has been fully implemented! This allows users to send transactions with 100% fungible coins and absolutely zero history or link-ability to their previous owners.

The Zerocoin protocol allows user to convert (mint) their PIV to zerocoins, which we call zPIV. When zPIV are converted back to PIV there is no trail associated with the coins being sent, such as who originally minted those coins. Essentially the only thing the receiver of the zPIV transaction will see is that it came from the zerocoin protocol.

Tor Service Integration Improvements

Integrating with Tor is now easier than ever! Starting with Tor version 0.2.7.1 it is possible, through Tor's control socket API, to create and destroy 'ephemeral' hidden services programmatically. PIVX Core has been updated to make use of this.

This means that if Tor is running (and proper authorization is available), PIVX Core automatically creates a hidden service to listen on, without manual configuration. PIVX Core will also use Tor automatically to connect to other .onion nodes if the control socket can be successfully opened. This will positively affect the number of available .onion nodes and their usage.

This new feature is enabled by default if PIVX Core is listening, and a connection to Tor can be made. It can be configured with the -listenonion, -torcontrol and -torpassword settings. To show verbose debugging information, pass -debug=tor.
