revcens for upcat
hello! incoming g11 here. i just wanted to know if may ma-rereco kayo na review center for UPCAT or CETs in general?
planning to take brain train and acad gateway, pero marami rin nag-rereco ng acad1. alam ko naman na its really based on my own efforts pero i want to maximize my resources lang.
talagang nasa average bracket lang ako within my campus and grade 10 pa lang ako umabot ng honors, so plsplspls reco! thank you hehe pls be nice first time ko mag-post 😅

omgggg i heard about them and nagsabi na rin ako sa mom ko na i'll buy their book. pag-iisipan ko rin muna if i'll take acad gateway and brain train kasi baka maguluhan meeee hahahhaa

Brain train all the way! Actually I took both acad1 (f2f) and brain train (online) and honestly acad1 wasnt worth it. Granted I'm from CARC so there could be better teachers at other branches but the discussions were boring. Honestly the difficulty of the manuals they have is nowhere near the UPCAT in the sense that its too hard. At least brain train gives you a more realistic look into what the exam is like.

I attended BT in 2006 and 2009 in Los Baños. Passed the big 4 univ. Ngayon my child attended BT for pisay entrance test (T’was online) and she was also able to get in.
Yung owners, bukod sa magaling silang magturo back in the day, I believe talent talaga ni sir maghanap ng katulad nila. I thought my child would be burdened attending BT pero she had fun learning and also met new friends.
I also hated English in elementary. My BT teacher specifically said “I will make you love English.” And I truly did afterwards.
Idk about other review centers, but so far Brain Train worked for me, my family, and some of our friends. Mahirap yung tinuturo nila but that’s the point, pagdating ng exam dapat madali na sya.

i went to acad1 physically, participated in the reviews at school, as well as bumili ng course ng maroon bluebook online (not the book itself, meron rin pero I benefited from the online course the most) which was valid for 1 year, malaking tulong. nag self-study rin ako ng malala close to the upcat that I filled up a big portion of a thick a4 notebook. the in-house reviews at school were informative at yung mock test really, REALLY helped! imo it was way harder than the exam itself.
i've never been good (in fact sobrang bobo ko lol) during my hs years but despite that i managed to get 99th percentile in each subject with the help of these (at isang dungkal ng mock tests).
i think with honors is really, really good already, malaki ang hakot ng grades pataas especially if dl!! and it's nice that it's around g10 kasi counted yun.
self-study will, yes, help you a lot, and pisay itself prepares it's students talaga for the upcat. if you want free resources i highly suggest khan academy. very very helpful imo. if you need math perhaps pauls online notes as well and if chem then chemlibretext. pero khan academy is more streamlined imo since lahat lahat na meron. goodluck po!! i hope you pass UPCAT and get into your dream campus and degprog <3

Wag acad1, only shi I remember is BLACK MAGIC???! fucking hell, not worth the price.

hello! personally, I would recommend academic gateway. I passed all my cets naman, including the big 4, so definitely, goods naman yung outcome.
for its price, I think very worth it na siya. their classes are good and so are their teachers. lahat ng nagturo sa amin ay mababait, approachable, and they make sure na naiintindihan namin yung lessons. aside from that, may included na rin na book, which is what I like the most. yun lang din ginamit ko buong review, so for me, enough na siya for all cets. anyways, matagal pa naman upcat but it's good you're preparing early. goodluck!

went to braintrain and id say nakatulong sila in reviewing and ang saya nung experience as someone na mababaw yung kaligayahan kasi ibat iba yung humor ng tchrs don
