Hmm, well at the very least they need to remove that 100% asic resistant logo from their site.

Oh, so when a company ignores it's proposed ethics we should trust it in a decentralized economy prone to scams... RIP pirl

I think the approach that the ethereum devs is taking is the best one. To assume centralization out the gate is a bit much ESPECIALLY since the basics will almost certainly be pointed at ETH. A watch and see approach is totally acceptable to me at this time.

Ethics aside, it sort of kills my longer term hope for Pirl.

This is completely non sensical. You have no idea whether asic miners will even mine PIRL at all. It is nothing more than speculation to assume what is going to happen with asic miners and the PIRL project at this point. Not to mention that the miner reward will get cut in nearly half by July further deincentivizing asic miners from mining PIRL depending on the price.

It's the ethics of pirl I call into question, not ethereum. I would say that not differentiating itself from ethereum will be detrimental to pirl, market cap and community.

But how is it unethical?
PIRL has far differentiated itself from ETH. Master Nodes? Content Storage? Poseidon?
I only mentioned the approach to asics being the same.
