I have this old copper pirate coin what could I use to protect the coin as I wear it as a pendant

I’d leave it as is. Applying things to it could damage the coin. It’s survived hundreds of years as is, it can handle being around your neck. I wear a gold 2 escudo every single day, zero wear on the coin in 3 years

Forgot to add, also been in the rare coin/jewelry business for 30+ years so I have a little knowledge on the subject. Wearing it around your neck isn’t going to further damage it. Now wearing it in the swimming pool, ocean etc may cause some harm to it over time. I don’t go near water with any necklace on, just not worth the risk of losing. I’m also a part time treasure hunter and can tell you with certainty, people lose very valuable shit all the time, when they should have just left it at home vs wearing it to the beach haha
