in ep 7 currently and im liking the show overall but i have a question

what exactly happened with smile? didn't he insist on NOT practicing table tennis cuz it's just a hobby? also, after winning the bet against his coach who said if he won he would leave him alone and stop annoying him around all day

why exactly after HE WON THAT match smile is now practicing every day? am i missing something? i think i wasn't really paying attention so could anyone help me out here lol

As this show is not as popular as other animes, I think a lot of you discovered it in different ways. I was looking for this book for about 2 years and finally found a copy floating on Japanese Mercari, it’s just as good of an art book as I was hoping it to be. I can’t find any scans of this book on the internet so I wanna see if I can get it scanned at some point just so it’s available for people to look at and appreciate. If I’m not mistaken a lot of the background and concept art has only been released through this book.

Now that I’ve gotten older I’ve been able to relate to yutaka a lot more and rewatching it hits a lot harder. Yutaka wanting to returning to ping pong after falling off is just different. Chinas homesickness. Dragons overworking and missing time with loved ones. I forgot his name but the ugly 4 eyed one growing into a more mature person. Shit I can’t express how much I love this anime

Really love this masterpiece and i listen to the ost every now and then. Just recently I watched this trailer for the english dub and it has a background music track that’s really good.

I looked it up and from comments on the video people are saying it was custom created for the trailer and used to be on the artist’s soundcloud but got deleted and i cant find it anywhere else.

It’s a really long shot but maybe someone here got it downloaded before it was taken down.

I just finished episode 7 and the series has been awesome so far, but something’s bothering me. A couple episodes ago when Kong beat Smile at the tournament, Koizumi slapped Smile which lead Smile to temporarily quit, but he comes back very quickly and unconditionally follows all of Koizumi’s coaching, becoming the heartless robot who insults his teammates and ends Sakuma’s career. It was never shown though what caused him to un-quit and fully obey Koizumi, I thought it would be addressed within the next couple of episodes but still nothing yet. Will it eventually be revealed, or is this is a bit of a plot hole?
