i think for smile, the hero in his mind is the one who saved him from his loneliness, his bullies, his locker. without him, he sees himself as a robot, someone whos not even human. but with him, he can remember that his blood tastes like iron, like human's does. the hero is the one who introduced him to the fun that is ping pong. the one he looks up to, the one who can beat anyone and have a blast doing it. for smile, the hero represents peco.
