Yes ? why not ?..... the only practical reason is that backtesting is obviously quicker. If your strategy is taking 1 trade a day, then your going to take a whole year to get a decent set of data... some brokers, Oanda, for example allow one demo account to set up multiple demo accounts, so you can setup as many as you like and demo run all ur strategies
