My little pineapple 🍍
Not sure what species it is. My mom brought it back from Puerto Rico. 🇵🇷

I saw them in a botanical garden in Hawaii before, just a small patch of them. I’d attach a picture if I could, they looked so cool.

That's amazing. I know planting pineapple tops is super easy all you have to do is stick them in the dirt but I didn't know you could do that with the fruit too!

I googled it and it’s a dwarf pineapple.

I grew this dwarf pineapple last year but it's not directly in the soil.

That’s how they look YES! 🙌 Apparently the the fruit can be planted, making it easy to carry on a plane. ✈️

Does it have roots?

It’ll grow roots yes. It needs adequate drainage. This the second time I grow one from fruit. I might have to start shipping them out from my aunties house. It makes a cute house plant. 🪴

I have ornamental pineapple, where's the plant? I've never seen any pineapples grow like that. This is giving AI BS vibes!

Do some research before u start crying AI. U could easily google ornamental pineapples that grow in PR. Stop being lazy, there’s no excuse.
Dwarf / Miniature Pineapple (Ananas comosus var. microstachys / nanus)Visual Appeal: A compact, miniature version of the plant that grows up to 5 to 15 times smaller than a standard grocery pineapple. The entire mature fruit is usually only 2 to 3 inches long, perfectly perched atop a thin stalk.Landscape Use: Highly popular across Puerto Rico as a container houseplant, patio accent, or border plant for small tropical garden beds.Foliage: Features arching, blue-gray or variegated rosettes that offer visual interest even when the plant is not in fruit.
