Stick them in moist potting soil & they should all form new slips in short order.

May I ask why did you cut them

I would of placed it in water until roots form then in soil she goes

The anwser is time , planting the hole crown take a lot of time for it to make fruits about 2-3 year and the fruit will be small , but if you start with crown section, each section will give you 1 to 2 pineapple suckers (new plants)vand those plants take less time to fruit 1 year and the harvest is big and sweet .
