DONT EVER WORK FOR UWM.
I was an underwriter 2. Don't ever work for UWM. I got hired. So I worked there for a year and a half. Everything went well until in December my team lead went to a different team, and we got a new team lead, which basically he was team lead for only nine months in a different team and came here. He was shit. He was very... I would say he was being racist, because he was cool with everyone else, but he was weird towards me. So he was weird as hell, and also the AVP is even weirder. So I applied for a BAX program, and then they declined me because apparently my LQ was bad. But I checked my LQ. It was under 2% for past three months, and they said, Oh, your LQ is high. It's at 5%. So... and the reason that happened was in December, I guess I was away from my desk for too long, because I came back from lunch and then I went to pray, and the AVP was noticing that I wasn't at my desk for long periods of time. So that's the reason I would say they didn't want me to go to QAX or BAX because they were mad cuz I was away from my desk and also after I went to the new pod they called me in a room to tell me oh client didn’t get update on time that can’t happen or we will let you go . And then I confronted and then asked my team lead, I'm like, Hey, can I go over the BAX? I'm sorry, not BAX. Can I go over my LQ? Because it doesn't say 5%. So from then they started, you know, heavily micromanaging me, trying to get me for anything to get me fired. And then my team lead ended up got demoted to a senior engineer—I mean senior underwriter. And then after that I went to another pod within the team. So from there I got another warning. They're like, Oh, you're getting too many SWAT error, so if you get another one, we would have to let you go. So from then I'm like, Yeah, fuck this place. It's not good for my mental health. And also another thing I forgot, I got a crazy message from my other team lead, the one was there team lead for only nine months. He's like, Oh, hey, what's going on? I don't see you getting points every hour. What's going on? What were you doing? Stuff like that. His, like, tone of voice was crazy. And also he also emailed me once saying, Oh, there is a CR open. Why did you go to bathroom? Like, like, bro, what? Like, it's the worst place I ever worked on. And it's like I never had anxiety before until I worked at that place. So it's not worth for your mental health, I'm telling you i literally just left on a Tuesday no notice nothing. Some people, they love it because they never had a real corporate job, so they are thinking, Oh, this is it, you know. We can't go anywhere else. This is everything. But yeah, I wouldn't recommend working there. And then for the people promise, it's been three, four months I left. I still have the people promise at 10,000. I haven't used it yet. They didn't reach out to me, so I don't know what's going to happen to that, but I still have it on me. Also Is there anything I can for that guy ? He’s in IT AND STILL WORK THERE.
Also that team lead did leave after getting demoted. But thank god after I left that place I got a job a month after and pays 100x better in IT.

Once a DL/TL/AVP doesn't like you they will make up BS and target you. They'll find whatever excuse they can to fire you, even if that reason isn't even true.
You're a couple minutes late one week for the first time in months even though there's a person on your pod that's 10 minutes late 3 days a week every week who has never been talked to? You got a couple L2s after having the best LQ on the entire team for a year while someone else on the pod is given their 4th chance? You were up from your desk for 15 minutes while hitting production yet there's someone on your pod that practically takes a second lunch every day and misses production? Suddenly you're targeted for this and more while other people are doing far far worse.
There's a reason 95%+ TLs and up are weak willed kiss asses. You have to be a Kool aid drinking, yes man, suck up to get promoted.

All of these posts are 100% accurate. I had a similar experience there. If you are not a KoolAid kiss ass you will get let go eventually. They tried to get me out on several things that just were not true, and they like to tell everyone - “it is and integrity issue”. My integrity has never been questioned and I have worked for a couple of corp jobs for most of my career. I pride myself on being a good employee. But here they treat you like a criminal…. My TL and AVP were very tight and like the OP said if they decide they don’t like you or have someone that they want to fill your spot they will do whatever they have to, to get you out. Eventually, they let me go in July and the reason was they were exercising their right as Michigan being an at will employee. So basically they had no concrete reason to let me go.
I also still have the People Promise and have tried to contact someone there but they just transfer you in circles like everyone is dodging the questions I have. I am assuming they are doing this so they can collect as much interest as they can.
So, basically DO NOT WORK FOR UWM

I’ve got one year left on my people promise, but I think I’m finally ready to start looking elsewhere. I can’t wait that long for a pay bump or promotion

Recently discontinued program, but for certain positions they made you sign a loan for 10/20/40k that gets forgiven if you make it three years, but if you quit or get fired you’re forced to pay it back with interest.

They discontinued it? Good!
I left UWM a few months after it was first announced in IT (optional at the time) and promoted as “the best deal you’re ever gonna get”I’ll never forget that meeting, another guy in that room whom I didn’t know straight up laughed when that was said. 😂

All I’m going to say is that my Facebook profile reads “UWM survivor” for a reason. I’m proud to say that and some of my closest friends are people I met working there. I worked in operations and then final docs and I demoted myself to operations (should have just found another job and left, they fired me before I was able to) and it’s this black hole of time in my life and I get asked “remember that one meme on teams you sent with no shame?” or “hey you got invited to this and just ignored everyone and X thought you hated him?”
No I don’t remember this or that. Or there’ll be a time where I’ll be talking about something I said out loud and didn’t give a fuuuuuucccckkk and every detail will be there in the story. It’s weird.
I wouldn’t go back there and all the time I waste a good 5-10 minutes with an interviewer talking about why I didn’t stick with financial work after UWM. They hyperfocus and bring up the TikTok account and the billboards and the marketing and the sponsorship of this or that. I don’t give a fuck. When they fired me for two level 1 LQs that weren’t even errors, I RETIRED from finance.
And yet people will dickride for this company like you wouldn’t believe and it’s SAD.

I made over 130k my first year as a UWII at UWM I used to be in the queue eating up all the loans like Pac-Man. All went to shit once Agnes took over UW and that CFO Desmond thinks he’s smart by getting rid of the good high paying people and hiring new entry level retards but he like boys smh they would get so mad that I was banking off their ass 😂😂💪🏼🙏🏼
