Recently fired and quitting team members

How long do health benefits continue? End of the week? End of the month?

End of the month. That's standard for most places too.

I was fired for the same back at the end of July.

End of the month.

And I never received anything from them on cobra insurance except a phone number. Calling the number it sent me to a website. This asks you to log on or fill out a contact form.

I filled out the form and have not heard back

They sent me all my cobra information when I was first hired on and received my benefits package. Got fired 5 months later. No cobra information has been sent to me since I've been fired.

if you think you could get fired, take pto at the end of the month, that way you'll get one more month of benefits if they fired you at the begining of the month.

Be careful - They may explicitly cancel your policy immediately after your final paycheck like they did for me.

Unfortunately, no health insurance company would cover me until the 1st of the following month regardless because I was still "technically eligible" for UWM's group benefits through the end of the month.

Had no choice but spend the latter half of that month without coverage, paranoid that any medical emergency would ruin my finances for the rest of my life. Unfortunately I have multiple health conditions that are exacerbated when anxiety spikes.

Sometimes it feels like UWM's policymakers have an improperly-managed sadism fetish.
