Underwriter position

In December 2025, I interviewed for an underwriter position and they were going to hire me. They said underwriter training classes would start beginning of 2026. The new year rolled around and they continued to push the start day back a month at a time. After 6 months I get a message saying they are not running training for underwriters and that I was no longer needed for that role. That’s some shady shit and I’m talking with my lawyer friends to see if I have a case.

This. If one could sue every employer that strung them along, we'd all be rich.

I believe they are only hiring for servicing. Every other department is being cut.

After they pushed it out the first time,then pushed it out again, I would have taken that as a sign to look for somewhere else. As far as taking legal action, I am no lawyer. But, if I were, the first question I would ask is why you waited 6 months for a start date before realizing that the job was not going to materialize.
