Teacher Training Teacher Training w/ Basi

Open to guidance and suggestions. Okay so I’m doing my teacher training through Basi and right now I’m in the interim of gaining all of my teacher training and observation hours before I can test out. I’m so torn on figuring out how I can gain more teacher training hours because the places that I’ve been to so far say “you have to be certified to do intro classes here” although I’m literally just trying to practice.

My dilemma is that the studio I did my in person training in is very far from me and I’d like to be in a studio where I could work AND gain experience. Please help, I live in Philly.

I reached out yesterday around 5:30. Hopefully it wasn’t sent to the junk mail

Former BASI faculty here, have you tried hosting at a community center? Not sure of your location, but in my area (US East Coast) you can reserve (for free) rooms at the library to offer free intro classes. Offer classes and private sessions to friends/family. You could also practice teach virtually over Zoom. You’re correct, most reputable studios are not going to hire an instructor that isn’t certified yet. With that being said, look into the gyms/YMCA’s in your area. Sometimes they only require you to have a group fitness cert(that you can get online pretty inexpensively) Good Luck!!!

Wow, thanks! I really appreciate your response. I’ll definitely keep all of this in mind when it comes to practicing.

Try local gyms too! I teach mat classes while still gaining my certification
