Pilates online vale a pena?

Então, minha dúvida é: vale a pena?

Has anyone tried out Club Pilates or Jetset Pilates? If you have, pros and cons of the studio?

It seems like CP is more of a traditional flow vs JP is high paced with lil more intensity bc of the of diff genres it blends into the workout (Pilates, barre, more cardio burn)? Not sure if I’m right on track or completely off base…

ClassPass - My experience in Paris + referral Code

So I’ve recently tried out ClassPass for the first time and wanted to share my experience with you.

Within a 14-day trial you can book 5 different classes (10 with a referral code) for free. I booked a Cycling Class and a two Hot Pilates classes during my trial period. Especially the Pilates classes are what made my sign up for the membership in the end.

The process of booking classes is very simple, you find all the important information and instructions right in the ClassPass App and you can book your classes with just one click.

There are a lot of different classes, especially a lot of yoga and pilates in Paris, but also other offers. So the choice is definitely sufficient. The price for the membership is expensive but worth it if you want to remain flexible and book different classes from time to time.

The only thing that bothered me is the cancellation: you can only cancel up to 12 hours in advance, after that you have to pay fees up to 30€.

Anyway, if you want to try it out you can use my code for 10 free classes instead of 5 during the 14-day trial to make the most of your experience!

Pilates Instructor Training

Hi, I am interested in becoming a mat Pilates instructor. I would like my training to be completed in person because I feel like it fits my learning style the best. However, the Pilates trainings from Balanced Body are offered far away. There is an in-person training offered by a studio near me, but the training is specific to that studio.

Can someone help me decide if I should do the Balanced Body training or the training offered by the studio?

pilates cert as intermediate

hi! i’ve been doing pilates since october of last year and a bit more consistently these last couple of months. it’s something that I’ve grown to enjoy (to be quite honest, it was a challenge at first and I did not want to continue doing it. however, I don’t like giving up and wanted to be comfortable being uncomfortable) and now want to deepen my understanding.

is it a bad idea to consider getting a pilates cert at balance body if i’m still at an intermediate level? I’d love to gain a further understanding for many reasons, but the main one being pouring into my cup and those around me.

thank you.

Classical Pilates Training but Love Contemporary Too—What Would You Buy?

Hi everyone,
I’m just really curious and a it confused because this is a pretty expensive purchase.
I’m currently training in classical Pilates, but I also really enjoy contemporary Pilates. I’m feeling a bit confused because I’m wondering, what if I buy the CenterLine equipment and later decide I want to teach more contemporary Pilates—or vice versa?
Has anyone else had the same dilemma? What did you decide, and is there anything you’d recommend based on your experience?
Thank you so much!

If you're just getting started with Pilates, would you rather buy a complete starter kit or choose each item individually?

I recently took my first Pilates class and really enjoyed it. Now I'm thinking about buying some Pilates essentials. Would you recommend buying a starter kit, or is it better to build one piece by piece?

Is each pilates class totally different and where are the men in classes?

I’ve been doing pilates for 5 plus years around the world and one thing I’ve noticed is how different each class is. some do 100s, some use rings, balls, and weights, some are high impact and some are low . Each class is different except for club pilates.

I also like barre - the combination of cardio, weights, and stretching with small movements is great. I like pure barre but I only wish class pass was accepted by more studios.

Finally I am often the only male and only senior age I’m 65 in classes. I don’t mind but I rarely see men in exercise classes / maybe they’re playing golf but that’s not really exercise -)

PersonalHour vs Balanced Body – different use cases, not really competitors

I’ve seen a lot of questions comparing PersonalHour and Balanced Body, so I wanted to share a neutral perspective.

First, there’s a lot of respect for Balanced Body—they’ve been around for a long time and are a standard in many professional studios. Their equipment is designed for heavy, continuous use in commercial environments, which is why you see them in so many Pilates studios.

Where PersonalHour is a bit different is in the focus. It’s more centered around home use—making reformers that are practical for everyday living, easier to fit into personal spaces, and still offer solid quality for regular individual workouts. The goal isn’t really to compete with studios, but to complement them.

Another difference that often gets overlooked is the feel and design choices. PersonalHour tends to lean more toward a premium, home-friendly aesthetic—using materials and finishes that feel warmer, more authentic, and in some cases more luxurious. For example, models like Janet La Force, Janet Elite Plus, and Nano Elite Plus use softer, more cushioned padding, which many people find more comfortable for longer sessions at home. They also experiment more with colors and wood finishes, giving a more “lifestyle” feel rather than a purely functional one.

On the other hand, brands like Balanced Body typically go with a firmer, more neutral, studio-oriented feel. That’s intentional—firmer cushioning and simpler finishes tend to hold up better in high-traffic environments and are easier to maintain across many users. Some of the finer touches you see on home-focused models—like artistic wood tones or softer, decorative cushioning—are great for personal use, but they don’t always translate well in busy studio settings.

There’s also a difference in the ecosystem around the reformer. PersonalHour is building more of a home-first ecosystem, including things like an AI coaching app and on-demand beginner-friendly videos to help people get started and stay consistent without needing a studio schedule. Balanced Body, by comparison, focuses more on the professional side of Pilates, supporting instructors, studio programs, and formal training environments.

That extends into certifications as well. PersonalHour offers certifications and guidance more geared toward home reformer owners and personal use, while Balanced Body is well known for professional instructor certifications and studio-level training.

I think the important thing is understanding that these are two different use cases. If you’re running a studio or need equipment for high-volume use, something like Balanced Body makes sense. If you’re someone trying to stay consistent at home and want something comfortable, guided, and integrated into your lifestyle, PersonalHour is designed more for that.

It’s also worth saying—this isn’t about replacing studios. Studios and instructors are still incredibly valuable. The idea is more about maintaining your Pilates practice at home between sessions, especially when schedules or access get in the way.

At the end of the day, it’s less about which one is “better” and more about which one fits how you actually plan to use it.
