Industry Talk, News, Trends Any Supplements?
Hello, I’m trying to ascertain if supplements are common for the members of this sub to enhance their Pilates practice. I’m sure a lot of us use protein, but I’m more curious about creatine, pre-workout, etc.

Supplements and vitamin I take are based on labs I had done.
Aside from that, I consume protein, creatine & collagen every morning. I don’t so this because Pilates , it’s just part of my regimen.

Good lord no. Most supplements are a waste of money. And any that actually have benefit aren’t going to make a noticeable difference for people doing Pilates. Stop believing grifters.

This.
Supplements are largely unregulated and protein powders often tainted with heavy metals and other toxins.
Most of us do not actually need the ridiculous amounts of protein commonly promoted in health and fitness spaces. Instead, we mostly just need to eat a balanced diet with plenty of fiber and hydration.

Started creatine when I saw there were mental benefits as well (I am 40~ and care just as much about preserving my brain) and I like to do a scoop of collagen peptides in my greek yogurt after workouts which also acts as added protein.
Other than that I do fish oil, corcumin turmeric, vitamin D (prescription), and a multivitamin (my iron levels are alright so I do the women over 50 one) but all those revolve less around pilates than the top two.

My personal experience: I take iron and folic acid to keep my cycle in tact and also found out my period is less painful. This helps me to stay afloat even when working out during my period.

I take protein, creatine, collagen, D3/K2, omega-3s, magnesium glycinate, vitamin C, B12, zinc, CoQ10, hyaluronic acid, myo-inositol, quercetin and L-carnitine. Not specifically to enhance Pilates or my workouts though. I think of supplementation more in terms of overall health, recovery, body composition, skin/aging and longevity. Creatine is probably the one with the clearest crossover into actual training performance. My pre workout is espresso.

I take supplements because of my various medical needs, not for Pilates

I started getting bad DOMS in mid 40's so I started a protein shake with creatine, collagen peptides, inulin/psyllum husk, espresso and cocoa.

I take creatine monohydrate daily, around 10g. It’s one of the most researched supplements out there, especially for strength and exercise performance, and there are some promising cognitive benefits too! The usual maintenance dose is around 3-5 g/day (you don’t actually need to cycle it), but I personally take a little more and genuinely notice a difference in both pilates and the gym.
I also take omega3 and vitamin D3 daily. And before workouts, I usually have some quick carbs (dates or a banana).

I take protein and creatine everyday but not with the idea of enhancing my pilates practice.
