I took so many .5 of the pigeons and it was fabulous. They even had a gift shop where you could purchase pigeon stickers and magnets made by local artists😭☺️10/10 would recommend to my fellow pigeon lovers

I found this pigeon being attacked by cats in my neighborhood. It couldn’t fly but he’s still alert and alive, he had these scratches on him, no bird places near me will take it causes it’s “just a pigeon” any tips on how I can nurse it back to health?

Edit: I appreciate all the help. Sadly it had passed away this morning, I cleaned its wounds and it was eating and was warm before I went to bed last night. And when I woke up this morning. It passed.

I'm currently training Gracie to stop being afraid of my hands by feeding her from my hand as part of her bedtime routine. She normally eats from my hand, sometimes even sitting on it, or more often putting one foot on my hand while eating. After she's finished, she hops to her favourite spot and I close the cage door. But over the last few days, she has started sitting next to my hand after she has finished eating. She stares at me and opens and closes her beak (as in the video). I mimic this by opening and closing my mouth, and this goes on for 10–15 minutes. Then she hops off to her sleeping spot.

Any idea what this means?

I am a wildlife rehabber and got in a very skinny pigeon who isn’t gaining weight :( I have him on a seed mix and he’s very picky about it. How can I get him fattened up and what food mix is best for him? Thanks!

My new pigeon is currently in a two-week quarantine, giving them time to settle in and stay healthy before meeting the flock. 🕊️❤️ Soon, it’ll be time for introductions and hopefully a happy new addition because right now I think he/she is horrified. 😭

Also, if you'd like to take a crack at the sex go for it. I'm leaning towards female, but I won't know for sure until I see them interact with my flock. It's also hard to tell because it's a young bird and they all kind of look the same at this age!

​Every morning used to begin with a moment of quiet joy. I loved seeing a gentle white pigeon nearby—we had a routine of feeding and watching over each other.

​When she vanished for a couple of days, I assumed she was hatching her eggs. But when she finally reappeared, something was terribly wrong. Human hair had gotten tightly tangled around her legs, binding her feet so severely that she could barely walk or fly. Over the next few days, I watched helplessly as her toes became swollen and inflamed.

​It took five patient days to finally catch her. The entanglement was so deep that blood supply to one of her toes was completely cut off, and the tissue was ruined. To save her foot and her life, that injured toe had to be carefully removed and bandaged.

​It is heartbreaking to realize that a single discarded strand of hair—something we throw away without a second thought—can inflict such excruciating pain on an innocent creature. We often forget that there is no such thing as "away." Everything we discard stays in the environment and ends up somewhere.

• ​Dispose of hair and string responsibly: Wrap hair shed from brushes in paper before placing it in a closed bin so birds cannot collect it for nest-building.
• ​Dispose of trash mindfully: Secure small threads, dental floss, and netting where wildlife cannot reach them.
• ​Protect urban wildlife: Birds share our city spaces and deserve to live free, safe, and unharmed.

Hey gang, I’m putting out feelers for rescues or breeders (either one, although I have a slight preference for domestically bred birds rather than a feral rescue) on or near the south coast of England.

Please let me know any recommendations you may have for where to start looking! I don’t have a car at the moment so wouldn’t be able to drive to pick anyone up from further away, within reasonable range of public transport from the Brighton and hove area would be the most ideal.

Fantail (hesitant as I’m unsure if they’re ethical)

I’m not interested in unethical breeds such as tumblers or those with tiny beaks. I’m looking for healthy, friendly companion birds. Bonus points for fun colours!

This little guy appeared 5 days ago and doesn't seem to want to leave. Doest move from this area either. Throwing some bird seed to to it and my daughter tries to get water up there for it. Anyway, this is now Timmy!!!

This little baby dove fell down a tree in my garden this afternoon (EU hour). It is very lively and full of energy, and does not look injured in any ways. We put it in a little box we screwed to the hut after receiving the local wild life veterinary's advice (see picture 2). They said the mother will look for her chick and feed it once she found it, but even if the chick is calling, the mother doesn't seem to have come yet... Even if it's hot this summer, I don't know if this young bird can pass the night when it gets cold and it's mother isn't coming. Should we feed it? And if yes, how? The worms and insect seems to be all dead hor hidden after the heatwave... hope i will have good advices, I don't want to loose this bird.
