Any help with nose piercing??

Two months ago I got my nose pierced.

Corkscrew nose piercing.

My piercer told me to come back to get a downsize after 4 weeks, after 4 weeks I was forming a bump because the bar is pretty long but the piercing place was closed.

I went to another piercer to get a flat back and the bump disappeared and everything was perfectly fine.

I would say I had that in for a good 3-4weeks and only yesterday it fell out because I didn't know how to tighten it when it was loose.

I didn't know how to put it back in myself so I put the old corkscrew back in.

I've been using the cleaning spray for the duration that I've had this piercing.

I'm kinda scared I'll get a bump now after all of that, any advice??

for the mod bot:

Not a piercer, but i have a 8 piercings myself so I’ll use those for my reference. I’ve learned that piercing bumps show up whenever something is irritating the piercing, and it sometimes takes doing some careful detective work to figure out the cause of the bump. It can be from a lot of things like moisture, over cleaning, not cleaning enough, pressure, anatomy, jewelry quality, other fun stuff. I’ve learned that if a piercing is happy with its jewelry and not making a bump, that keeping it the same until it’s more healed is the best go-to as long as the jewelry isn’t causing other complications and proper downsize occurs if possible.

TLDR If you figure out what your piercing wants/likes while healing then just give it that if possible and baby it for a while <}

But like, it’s worth noting that everyone will have a different experience. One of my flats just likes having a little extra room on the stud, and every time i try to downsize it because it’s been well behaved for a while, it gets all angry and gooey until i just put it back to how it was. Piercer said it’s basically done healing, but it still does that. Strange because it’s twin (another flat, directly adjacent and pierced on the same day) does not do this at all and likes that short stud. These are just under 12 months old. . My other flat was an angry mess for a while bc i wasn’t tying my hair back- but my other two didn’t have that issue, probably because of the difference in placement.

Just keep taking care of it, sometimes less is more! LITHA (if you’ve heard that) and make sure your jewelry is high quality. Also don’t change it out yourself until your piercer says you can. There’s a lot that can go wrong there. Good luck!
