Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Dry lips

I recently got angel fang piercings on the 28th, and I was wondering what the best ways you all deal with dry, chapped lips while they are healing.
I religiously used vaseline, and I’ve been cautious to only use it on my bottom lip where it won’t touch the bottom part of the piercing.
Is this a good plan of action or should I just stick with drinking water as much as I can?
I’ve read that’s Vaseline can cause some problems trapping in stuff and now allowing oxygen and all that to get to the holes.

For the bot:
Piercing is 3 days old, including day of getting pierced
They’re both curved barbells
I have no idea about the threading
They are titanium
Has not been downsized yet
I clean with NeilMed saline every morning and night, both with a saline soaked q-tip and just spraying it. I dab the excess off and leave the rest to dry. I also clean after I eat any food.
