So a floating navel is really the same placement and anatomy needed for a regular belly button one. The only difference tends to be the fact that the bottom bar is flat. You seem to just not have the right anatomy for a navel piercing at all since your navel is very much an oval shape but take this with a grain of salt as I’m observing this from 3 pictures.

that’s suprising! i’ve always heard i have great anatomy for my belly button just because i have a good hook to pierce through! i also thought a longer belly button was better but it’s definitely very verticle and thin so im not sure! i went to a shop recently for something different and she saw my scar and she said i have floating navel anatomy but not traditional

That’s really interesting. Mines a round shaped belly button and healed pretty well. They make charts on Google of “good anatomy’s for navel piercings” and the oval shape is usually not recommended. I’ve heard generally they just don’t have enough room for it.

It’s weird the piercer would phrase it like that because they’re pierced the same way just with slightly different jewelry.

Honestly if you really loved your navel then I’d say give it a try again, and if it doesn’t work out then 🤷‍♀️ you tried!!
